Cheap but not Cheerful
We were visiting the Finger Lakes and we had breakfast here.
We were not greeted as you would expect from a restaurant that is in a town that attracts a lot of visitors.
One of us asked for boiled eggs and we were told by the gent taking our order that we dont do boiled eggs, really.
Our tea was scummy the water was not boiled. My english muffin ordered toasted arrived like it was waved over the toaster and it was stale.
No one asked if we wanted more tea or coffee, no one asked if we needed anything or if the food was ok.
We left the cheerless eatery as quick as we could and if we are ever down this way again we will be avoiding Art...
Read moreWell, it could have been a bad day as far as the food went. It was well below average. Sausage patties must have come out of the budget bag at the dollar store, english muffins certainly weren't brand name and the eggs (on my sandwich) were - uh - medium rare. To be fair, I'm also not big on partisan breakfasts. I prefer to see the dollar bills posted on the wall above the cash register with the picture of a real president (George Washington) in the middle rather than another. And, if there's a TV, I'd rather see the Weather Channel than Fox and Friends (or Rachel Maddow, by the way). It is clean, well lit and comfortable. Coffee is good. ...
Read moreI personally have never ate there but one of the owners is high school football coach and it's really great that our communitys sons have a coach that does more than teach plays and physically train them they take his whole varsity team every Thursday night here for team building n bonding off the field. Which makes are Boys Closer stronger and more socially bonded as a unit. When I was in school we trained ran laps played games and that's all really did as a team. This kind of forward thinking makes a difference in the young men were trying to raise right. Thank you for effort n heart. I know my son...
