INCREDIBLY SLOW SERVICE; MESSED UP OUR ORDER

My wife and I came here for a Saturday evening dinner, excited by the great reviews. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience. We arrived at the restaurant around 6pm, waited 15 minutes to be seated at a table, which was understandable since the restaurant was quite full. However, we waited another 15 minutes to be served water, and for our order to be taken. We had only ordered 2 entrees. Then an hour went by and no food came. We tried to flag our server, but she appeared busy. Since we saw neighboring customers waiting for their food, we thought that the kitchen was just busy. Then, 2 hours went by. By now we were hungry, and annoyed that the server never came by. The female server finally dropped by our table and asked whether we were still waiting for our order. She stepped away for a couple of minutes, came back and said "I'm sorry, we misplaced your order", to our big dismay, and added "could you please tell me again what you ordered?". At this point, my wife left the table in anger and tears. I told the server that it was absolutely unacceptable that she didn't even check in with us in a timely fashion, and completely dropped the ball on serving our table. The restaurant offered to rush our order and waived the charge. However, they had ruined our evening dinning experience and wasted our time.

The food was okay- salty, sweet, saucy, like at other Americanized Thai restaurants, nothing particularly special.

I wouldn't recommend coming here for a quick meal or a business meeting, expect to spend 2-3 hours...

Couldn't believe when I saw they opened a Thai place in the small town of watkins glen which is only about 25 minutes from me so I knew I had to try it.

The place

The place is very nice they did a really good job with the decor and everything including the bathrooms were very clean. They even had a private room which looks like it would fit a max of 8-10 people.

Staff Our waitress was amazing she welcomed us and asked where we from. She was very attentive Im not sure my glass ever went below half full! We had a great conversation even told her they need to open one in the Corning area. She said they were considering it!!!

The food I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was with the food! I am not a Thai expert but I do consider myself an intermediate. This is the best Thai food I have had in the area and I have been to the places in Ithaca, Williamsport, and Corning (Asian-fusion) places. I went with a few friends and ordered the Drunken noodles with medium spice and wow was it good!!! It had great flavor compared to most Thai places I have been. My friends ordered Green Curry, Thai fried rice, and the Pad Sea Wan and all said their food was excellent.

The verdict

This place is nothing short of amazing! I really cant wait to get back here and try more items on the menu. To finally get some good Thai food without driving an hour! My only hope is they open a location in the...

Thai elephant is a nice quaint small Thai restaurant with eclectic curry dishes, beautiful Thai rice, and all your favorites - just check out their menu.

In Watkins Glen, you can spend anywhere from $250 for dinner (for 2)right on Lake Seneca a block away or Spend 60 bucks and have the best Thai meal of your life while visiting the Seneca Lake region, and Watkins Glenn State Park, and all up and down Seneca and the other finger lakes, and this is probably the best meal we had staying in that area for five nights.

this is a BYOB place but they’re serving some terrific mango drinks including a mango lassie which was wonderful. If you’re going in the spring and summer, I would suggest reservations anywhere around Watkins Glen. There will be lines everywhere.

So I love Thai food and I love it hot. Their green curry was probably the most spicy I’ve had and it was just blow away good. I had it with duck it was a wonderful curry.

I hope you try this out. It’s a gem in Watkins Glen. You can go to the harbor Inn and the harbor Inn hotel and spend $200 plus for a couple, but you’re not gonna enjoy simpler dishes made by authentic people.

I’d rate any of the harbor eateries, although I think it is foolish for a family to spend that kind of money. Please check those reviews as well. Also could you thumbs up, hope...

This is the BEST Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m actually depressed now because I’ve tried 30 (and counting) Thai places in NYC and thought I’d found the best, but this place blows it entirely out of the water. Now I don’t know what to do with myself as Watkins Glen is a 5 hour drive away and Seamless doesn’t reach that far (maybe Uber Eats?? Haha) But seriously it’s so, SO good. The Basil Fried Rice is to die for. And I think I actually teared up when I tasted the Drunken Noodles and their Crab Rangoon. The Fried Ice Cream and the Thai Donuts were just mouthwateringly incredible. I was told the Pineapple Fried Rice and the Mango Ice Cream dessert were great (though I didn’t try them). I don’t have photos for half of these because once they were tasted we lost all rational thought. Honestly the chefs are national treasures and must be protected at all costs lol. If it wasn’t a slightly crazy and more-than-slightly expensive idea, I would drive 5 hours back just to eat here again. It’s that serious.

9 Oct 2022: solo dinner. Ordered red curry. The portion size was small. Curry was sweet while the menu mentioned the spice level medium. Had to order fried tofu appetizer as I was hungry after finishing my entree. Turns out the tofu came with another sweet sauce. I am not a fan of sweet food. Maybe I should’ve ordered something else, both orders bombed. The place is beautiful and has a good vibe for dining-in. But there was a problem: The staff had sass. I didn’t appreciate that as it seemed borderline rude. Also, getting in was a hassle, there was a line to the door and no room to walk in. You’d think this place is popular, that’s why so many people crowded up the entrance. But took a peak inside and there were so many tables available. They don’t accept reservations. There manager needs to organize the traffic flow in a better way. $26 for entree and appetizers including tips They are BYOB but no alcohol served. Recommendation: yes. I am assuming it was just a bad day for me there.
