When I arrived at Kindred Fare with my party of 4, we were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. The restaurant design and overall vibe is awesome, we loved the open kitchen, and the bar was beautiful. One of our favorite moments was looking into the kitchen and seeing the impromptu "tong tricks" from one of the chefs - 10/10 on the food and the entertainment ;)
COCKTAILS & WINE: We were all very impressed with the extensive spirits list, as well as how amazing and balanced the cocktails tasted. Great work bar team! The wine list had a nice mix of varietals and some beautiful selections from local vineyards. We ordered a bottle with dinner and then enjoyed a tasty selection of dessert wines that paired perfectly with their homemade strawberry shortcake and chocolate coconut tart!
FOOD: Since we had been traveling earlier that day from our hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY, we were starving and decided to order family style apps, entrees and desserts. The home-made pasta app was to die for, the scallops we ordered were cooked to perfection, and the cornmeal crusted spicy chicken was lights out! Everything we ordered that night was so enjoyable, we ended up ordering additional food to bring back to the hotel.
THE SERVICE Our server Anastasia is really what set off the entire experience for us. Once we were seated, Anastasia, greeted us as if we were all old friends, she gave us unparalleled service and attention. Everytime we thought we needed to ask for something, Anastasia was right there with it! She made us feel like VIP's and anticipated our every need. What stuck with us the most was just the way that Anastasia went above and beyond. We had asked her what some of her favorite local spots were in town, and at the end of the evening, she gave us a hand written list of vineyards, restaurants, and outdoor activities for us to check out while we were in town, it helped us out immensely and made our trip even better :)
Thank you Anastasia & Kindred Fare team - we cannot wait to dine...
Read moreWent for my girlfriends birthday dinner. Admittedly, not my type of place, but she loved it and I had a good time also. The food and service were excellent. The entire wait staff, not just our waitress were super attentive. If you even looked around just to look they were right there inquiring if you needed anything. She had the friendship fries and the calamari and chickpeas. I had the gemelli bolognese special. I was very excited that the bolognese was on special. I really like bolognese dishes, and they are not the most common dish to find. She said her meal was excellent and I felt my meal was excellent. The pasta was al dente, which most people prefer, I wish it had been cooked just a bit more, I should have asked the waitress, still an excellent dish. Drinks were excellent also. Only complaints I had were that I felt the drinks took longer than normal to arrive, and I felt the bread should have been included with my meal, not for a $2.00 upcharge. I wish there were more single serve appetizers on the menu. This might just be personal preference, but when they bring water, I feel as though it should be on ice and cold. It was also very loud, which to be honest I'm probably over sensitive too, I prefer quiet. I also wish the specials were posted on the website or on social media so that they could be viewed before arriving. My only major gripe is the 2% kitchen appreciation fee that is automatically added to your check. You are able to opt out of the fee with no questions asked on your bill, I just feel as though it is kind of ticky tack and it reminded me of my NYSEG bill, which as we all know is annoying and obnoxious. All in all a very good experience, I will return and...
Read moreHave to tell you that originally I did not want to go here. The menu didn't wow me when I looked at it. However I was deeply wrong. The atmosphere was warm and cozy inside. My husband and I were greeted by a friendly host upon our arrival. I am so impressed with our server "Jude" he knew the menu extremely well, told us about their committment to using community products and fresh herbs, which are grown on the premises. Walking by tables when we came in I saw huge seared scallops that looked amazing. My spouse got the white wine and garlic mussels with two crusty bread slices. He said they were very good. I ordered a corn chowder, which was like nothing I have ever tasted before. My only complaint about the chowder was that it needed more corn. (we got there at eight thirty though so the corn may have made it on other bowls) I had THE MOST delicious meatball flat bread (pizza) with ricotta and pecorino cheese and fresh basil. I ate all of it because I couldn't put it down. It was FABULOUS!! I highly reccomend it. Lastly we had dessert and that was very good too. My husband had a Cherry Tart, I had the Finger Lakes Forest ice cream with a crunchy baked Graham type cookie. Boy was I wrong about "Kindred Fare" they are creating food. It's not your standard establishment. If you are visiting Seneca Lake region make time to come to this place to eat. Jude our server told me "you cannot judge a book by it's cover. He was...
