There was quite an uproar in Goshen about Kelley Jean's opening because it is a bar. After all, it's not like Goshen needs a mid-priced, quality, classy bar to contrast dives like Mullany's and New Street. People were worried about their property values etc., but thankfully a deal was done and the bar finally opened. The owners put a lot of money into the building which used to look like a broken old barn, and it looks a lot better than respectable now. With all of the brand-new wood paneling and flat screen TV's everywhere, the place was actually very nice and remains so! The owners also own a beer dsitributorship, so they offer beer flights (nothing too exciting) as well which is a nice touch. I didn't like this place at first, but it has grown on me. The main reason for this is that the first time I came here it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had anywhere. It was their first weekend open, and the staff was absolutely lost. What little attention they had was focused on the politicians and other community board members at the bar instead of the actual customers restaurant. It literally took an hour to get an appetizer, and we left a half hour after that without food. The appetizer was decent bar food, but nothing more. Our waitress was nice but she lied about what was happening and outright couldn't handle the pressure as she was brand new to waitressing. So yea, we walked out that time and it wasn't quite the best first impression. The next visit and those thereafter have been much better. At first I gave it another shot out of sheer convenience, but I'm happy I did. I mostly get either a philly cheesesteak or a caesar salad with grilled salmon. The cheesesteak uses quality ingredients, includes mushrooms and peppers in addition to onions, and is authentic as it uses cheese whiz (one of 4 approved cheeses). The fries it comes with are also good. The salmon is cooked properly but I always forget to ask them to put the dijon mustard on the side; it's good but they always put too much on. The greens are always fresh and the dressing is tasty; this dish has become my healthy "go-to" option. I've tried other things from time to time, and everything has been good and consistent. The only dish I outright don't like are the nachos, which come with unmelted cheese for some reason. All of this is also reasonably priced with big portions, making this place a pretty good...
Read moreThis was my first time going to the Easter event they hosted. I was disappointed with the fact that the flyer was misleading and didn’t mention that all activities had to be paid for separately instead of maybe an entry fee or something. The service wasn’t great at all. Our waitress barely came and took our food and drink order to never been seen again until it was time for us to pack up and leave. My daughter had to remind her of her drink after it was already ordered. The food was very over priced for the quality. Kids food was pricey and not good. The Mac and cheese was tasteless and watery for $10. They imposed a 20% gratuity for a table of 6 or more which is ridiculous to give someone who gave horrible service! When I approached and told the owner she looked at me like she was annoyed that I asked and asked with annoyance “What do you want me to do? Take it off the bill?” And if she takes it off the bill, am I going to tip her at all because the service was bad? I’m like are you serious?! I can tip her something but she doesn’t deserve 20% for horrible service. I will not be coming back especially because of how the owner reacted to me about her employee giving bad service. Didn’t even...
Read moreThis restaurant gets 0 stars from me.. Food is horrible, and there's a long wait for the food. Waitresses i had were cold.. Went to dinner with my family to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I asked after I made reservations over the phone If they would sing happy birthday and they said yes, but do not provide dessert. I said ok. At least she would get the birthday song. Guess what? Birthday song never happened, and the waitress did not want to sing it all. Body language speaks volumes. I asked her if she was going to sing the birthday song for my daughter and she said No. Am I buying dessert? I said no. Well because I'm not buying dessert, they are not going to sing the birthday song. My daughter will remember this and so will I. I never experienced anything like this. Most restaurants actually sing for u AND even give you dessert. And even if they don't give dessert, they sing the song to wish u happy birthday. I would never eat there again.. I spent over $200 dollars and I couldn't even get a simple happy birthday song for my daughter? Wow... NEVER again will I step foot in there... This restaurant will reap...
