First, I'd like to address that the only reason I don't give full five is because the restaurant does not have their sitting area open (I can't give fair assessment of the atmosphere. They have a chair or two to sit and wait for food. It is in a nice area and there is good lighting at night as well. I went at 0745pm, which was close to closing time. The more important is the food. It's not greasy. The Pork egg rolls is very yummy. It is not small and not huge. But the right size to feel content. The white rice is fluffy and sticky, which is a side item with my sweet and sour chicken. The Chicken was well cooked and did not require sauce, which is rare. They seasoned the batter enough that it can be had alone. The sweet and sour sauce was super tasty, and it was thick, so it stuck to the chicken and didn't create a soup-like effect. Lastly, the Pork Lo-mein. Wow! The Lo-mein is good as its own dish. The pieces of meat are large, tender, and scrumptious. Because the meat pieces are big it does seem like you would have less. But, no. You get a healthy serving of both meat and noodle. I got the large and that was enough for two. Could definitely feed three adult. Four adults would be a stretch. Same as the chicken, which I ordered the regular size.
To some it all up, I think this place is great for take-out. It was well put together in the bag and traveled well to me house. I will be returning and...
Read moreThey are still not seating people to covid. Do don't be shocked when you walk in. Kinda weird to still be doing it. But their business and I was just picking up.
I'm a traveler and go around the united states and my favorite places to try are chinese.
This one did fall short of enjoyable. I payed 55 dollars for my order so I wish it would have been better for me and my travel mate.
She got szechuan chicken. She LOVES spicey food but this felt like it soaked in hot peppers for hours she couldn't even eat her meal bc you couldn't taste any of the components. Her egg roll was decent and edible but not the best we've had.
My fried rice was Un edible. It tasted like an old skillet and was super wet and mush.
The cheese ragoons were decent. Again not the best I've had.
The pot stickers were delicious but the sauce with it was just vinegar no flavor components.
I got chicken lo mein and that was pretty good considering my rice was a fail.
And the wanton soup you can tell was not fresh the noodles were disintegrated in the soup and the broth was a tad sour. Nor sure from what.
Take what you will from that info. I understand each sate had different tastes but this was not the best nor worth the...
Read moreThe fact that this place has such high ratings shows the sad state of affairs of restaurants in Appleton. I last ate at this place about 5 years ago, where I remember it being rather good. So I decided to return in December 2023 when I was in town visiting. First off, they're still acting like we're in the middle of the Covid pandemic. The dining room is closed, so when you walk in you're forced to stand in this super small entryway where, if there are 2 other customers waiting, you're all squeezed together... which, ironically, would only get you sick if someone sick is breathing down your neck. The restaurant has plastic wrap all above the counter, and in order to pay and get your food you need to pass it through this compartment under the counter. It's all totally ridiculous. The bigger problem, however, is the extremely mediocre food. If a Chinese restaurant can't do Chicken & Broccoli well, they're in the wrong business. Tons of food, but extremely bland...
