Nice enough place. Nothing fancy, however very nice staff. Accommodating. Service was good. Enough for the good! Now the bad. Well I have to give them credit for dishes that rely on sauces which in each case was really good, I can't say the same for the portions, the overall prepare of the items, nor the over excessive prices! The wine list was mediocre and the bottle of Argentinian wine that we had to settle for because the bottle we were aiming for was out of stock, was drinkable at best. But the bottle was $70. No bread was served, however mediocre crusty bread was given upon request. Nothing special. Just something to mop up the good sauces.. Started with probably the best thing we had; the Meatballs over Polenta. The meatballs themselves were just mediocre and the polenta didn't stand out unto itself. However there were four small balls and plenty of polenta over a very good marinara sauce. Take it as you will. Not good, not terriblešŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. Moved on to a pasta course. Shared a have portion of fresh made, good quality fettuccine with a delicious sauce, but served with the most miniscule tasteless shrimp that one could be served. They don't make him smaller than this! And this was literally one handful of pasta! $20. I would say to get the larger portion at $30 but I have no idea if that's just two handfuls of pasta?! Either way, the shrimp had no bearing on the dish. Moved on to share the final course which was chicken scarp with chicken sausage served with another delicious sauce. The one piece of small breast on the plate was comical! The sausage had no taste. And it was $38! I would have much rather get a two piece from Kentucky fried Chicken for $7! Not that the sauce would have been better at KFC, but there would have been more satisfaction. Very bland preparation of the items in general over very tasty sauces in every item! What a shame. Finally, ordered the special almond cake with ice cream. All desserts on the menu are $10 however the special was $16. Hardly a hint of almond and hardly a hint of the dessert in its entirety! See attached picture. Cannot recommend this place. Had high expectations going in toošŸ˜ž

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 **Fantastic Party Venue!** I recently hosted a party at L’inizio and it was a memorable experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, accommodating all our needs with great menu options. The food? Absolutely delicious! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the taste and quality. The venue itself had a cozy atmosphere with the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We had a nice balance of seating with spots to mingle. A big shoutout to the event owners, who was incredibly helpful in planning and executing our party. They made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. I highly recommend L’inizio for any special occasion. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just want to gather with friends, this place is a gem! Thank you, Scott for making our event so special! We will definitely be back.

I may be biased, but I've known Chefs Scott and Heather back in the Manhattan days with their restaurant Spigolo. Anyone who's been there will understand how upset I, as a fan, was when they uprooted and moved to Ardsley. Fast forward a few years, I finally get to visit their restaurant L'Inizio, and it's better than I remember Spigolo ever was. Baked Clams and chicken liver crostini were hits with my dinner mates, who weren't fans of shellfish or chicken liver. The carbonara is tasty rich goodness, but not so much that you're feeling full and useless after. Seasonal entrees like branzino and scallops are well presented and amazingly tasty, but do yourself a favor, and try the butternut squash parmigiana. It will blow your mind. Just make sure you save some room for dessert, as the bomboloni MUST be dipped into the affogado (2 separate dishes, but they were 1 item back in the NYC days. Our secret, ok?)

If I could give this place a zero I would for the horrible service we received last night. We eat out very often so I’m always looking for new restaurants to try and I found this restaurant so I made reservations. Once we arrived we ordered drinks and waited a while and even got our drinks before one of the waiters came by ā€œfinallyā€ with a basket and put ā€œone slice of breadā€ on each plate.

We ordered the 18 month old prosciutto di Parma which was excellent and the Cauliflower Rice and Quinoa salad which we didn’t really care for.

For our main course I ordered the market steak which was a NY strip and it was cooked as I asked , medium but the meat was a little a tough, my husband ordered the Sweet potato gnocchi which was ok, still none of the dishes had a wow factor. Now my mother in law got the ā€œChicken Scaparielloā€and my father in law another pasta dish.

So we all started eating, when my mother in laws pulls a long hair out of her mouth, we were all disgusted and choked that this happened, totally not expecting that something like this would happened in a fancier restaurant (all the dishes run about 29 and up). Now her dinner was ruined. We called the waiter who came and my mother in law gave him the hair to see if he can check in the kitchen maybe someone that needs to tighten their hair. And he took the plate with him, then another waiter came in who I believe was the manager and apologized and offered to remove her dish from the check and he asked if he could get her something else, my other in law ordered another Chicken Scapariello but her experience was ruined already but anyway she waited for her dish and it arrived cold which was probably the same chicken she had gotten before with the hair. We get the check and ā€œthey never removedā€ her dish. The waiter said that it was removed and then added back on. Then the hostess who is the ā€œownerā€ comes rudely and says to us that we still ordered another the chicken and we ate it, it doesn’t matter that our experience was ruined and that the waiter offer to remove it as a remedy for what just happened. Which is what any restaurant would do and specially this overpriced restaurant. I had higher expectations. The owner went on to tell us that they have a restaurant in NYC and they are very successful. This nice person that greeted us suddenly became an irrational human being that had the audacity to tell us that we still ate and we shouldn’t expect to get anything for free. It’s not about the $29 overpriced chicken dish, we have no problem spending and paying for it, it’s the principle and that’s not how you...

I ordered 3 dinners on Valentine’s Day at 230 pm on Valentine’s Day. My order was confirmed at 553 pm. I was told to pick up at 640 instead of the 6:30 I requested becUse you have a lot of orders. Frankly I was not even sure if you actually had my order until I called to confirm. I promptly received my order. However when we got home one of the main meals was not there. I came from tarrytown and when I called david said sorry we can pick it up or just get credited for the entree. I was upset by the situation but my husband said to pick it up. When we got there we did get our dinner. David said he was the manager and I simply said that we have been trying to support small businesses but I just can’t believe he didn’t offer to At least comp the entree we received. Considering we had to drive back to tarrytown. I’m highly disappointed with this action. David did not try to do anything to alleviate the situation. By the time we came home the rest of our meals were cold. Sadly while we love your food as I have eaten there frequently when i dined indoors I don’t think I can come back due to his lack of customer service. I work with a company where customer service is our utmost priority for our wholesale mom and pop customers. I am writing this to you so that you are aware that I think you should have better customer service. Thank you. I wasnt going to publicly post this since I just wanted the owners to respond to me. They told me.saturday they would respond. I have not heard a response. Sadly I will.not be returning because they don't value my comment enough...
