The Shop Is it a deli? Is it a restaurant? Is it both? Is the food great? Yes. The Shop had been on my radar and even though Ardsley is twenty minutes away, it feels like you have driven into different dimension, possibly The Shire? And it is also on the border of Dobb’s Ferry, which makes it even more confusing. I just looked at a map and it comes as no surprise that it also borders an area called Woodlands. 🌲🍄 We visited The Shop during the day and I was a little confused because it was definitely shouting deli vibes even though the left side of the space is furnished beautifully… the chairs, tables and booths are so nice… and the deli side is nice too… very clean and organized, but definitely a deli. The daytime menu reads like a deli/diner… so I asked to see the night time menu. Not deli like. (Cannot wait to return for dinner.) How was the food? Excellent. You could taste that there is either a chef behind it or some seriously seasoned cooks. My husband and I shared a Reuben. I had a clam chowder. Our son ordered choc chip pancakes and our daughter a smoothie! EVERYTHING was delicious. I am not a pancake person for health reasons and because most take me back to Bisquick and high school home ec. I kept stealing bites from my kid’s pancakes. The clam chowder was bacon-forward and delicious. Silky. I just used this word to describe the amazing shrimp and corn chowder that I had at Go Fish. The difference between a cafeteria chowder and a cheffie chowder is flour. A well-executed chowder should not feel like hot clammy floury milk. Guys… Ardsley is happening. Many of you already know this so… forgive me for being late to the party. A few notable places are Umami sushi (real sushi bar featuring omakase), Neung Thai Kitchen (BYO booze) and very soon, hopefully, the famous Liebman’s deli! Please share your own favorites below. (p.s. I have been here ONCE… take everyone’s opinion with a grain of salt. Try it for yourself.) — at At The Shop. Only ordered via Uber eats but this is the best delivery meal I’ve had in a long time and I went with “steakhouse” food and only afterwards found out this was a quick service/cafe kind of place. Seriously good steak!!!! Perfectly cooked. Excellent creamed spinach. Onion “rings” are onion crisps but that how my mom made them, so I like it. And someone added some mashed potatoes that were creamy and perfect (I didn’t order them, they were a bonus). Oh…and the “wedge” I got is almost a whole head of lettuce, plenty of bacon and blue cheese and dressing. If there was a waiter at my house pouring a bottle of red…this would be a 5-star at home meal! The pic??? It’s about 1/5th of the meal I received. I’ll be enjoying this for a few days. Which—I’m never about quantity, but it’s nice that the portions EXCEED the price.

Heard great things about The Shop, finally got a chance to have dinner here with family the other day. Nothing but great things to say! Decor has a modern yet cozy, relaxed vibe to it. The service was excellent. The food: everything was phenomenal! We shared a meatball appetizer and a chopped salad to start. For entrees we had a fried chicken burger, build a burger and friend chicken dinner w/ string beans. Very impressed with how great all the dishes came out. Hearty sized portions as well. Manager (maybe she was the owner?) was wonderful, even gave us some bagels to go home with. Very good, authentic bialys btw. It's hard to find places that make them well around the rivertowns, but they nailed it. I'll definitely be coming back regularly!

I ordered lunch here for pickup today (2 sandwiches and a veggie wrap) which said would take 35 mins. I arrived 10 mins early and upon my arrival saw my 2 sandwiches ready. One of the workers told me that the wrap wasn’t ready yet.

I figured that I’m early hence I don’t mind waiting. Many other people ordered there and left before me. Strange?! Very! Especially as there were 3 workers there at the front. Was the place busy? No? Were they understaffed? No. At the time my food was supposed to be ready, one of the workers mentioned the food would be ready in 2 mins. 10 mins later my veggie wrap appeared.

When I inquired about the delay, they mentioned the kitchen never got the ticket. This is where my frustration begins. I was there for a total of 25 mins waiting on one item. One would imagine that one of those 3 workers at the front would check on this manually after I sat waiting patiently. But that would be too easy…Instead he gave me 3 bagels and a passive “Sorry.”

When I got home the first 2 sandwiches were cold and this added unpleasant experience. I’ve ordered from the Shop numerous times on Uber Eats which is how I heard about it. However, after today I’d rather go up the street to DeCiccos and pick up a sandwich. A place that actually understands...

My review has 2 parts: (1) right after ordering and (2) after finishing our meal. I’d like to add that I don’t often write reviews; let alone while I’m out, but I had to.

The place and menu looks great, but after the service when ordering at the counter i almost wanted to cancel it. I ordered the “build your own sandwich” and saw the flagels on the menu so I asked the guy what flavors they were and he just shrugged his shoulders high. He may think it’s a silly question, but the flagels/bagels are not labeled, with multiple flavored flagels in one bin. Am I supposed to be an all-knowing psychic goddess? No. I’m just a girl, wanting to know if it was an onion or garlic flagel.

If you work in customer service as well as the food industry, shrugging your shoulders is not the move. I’m not even mad that he doesn’t respond when anyone says Thank You to him. i’m just mad that he didn’t answer questions; If you can’t, have someone else answer it.

French onion soup was great except my boyfriend said he didnt like the bread in the soup. He thinks its wheat (lol) but overall recommend it. Center panini St. sandwich on a flagel ok. Needs a sauce (i asked for hot sauce and then thought an aioli would perfect it.) Omelette was good but...
