My pizza was interesting, my friends Caesar salad and pizza were good - but overall, it didn't seem like they really wanted our business.
We arrived at 5:30pm on a Sunday and there was only 1 family seated outdoors and at least 7 empty tables. Despite this, they seemed reluctant to let us sit outside since "they had reservations" but eventually let us sit. It was sunny and hot out and after about 5 minutes the 1 family that had been sitting outside left and so after they cleared that table we asked if we could shift to that table which was more shaded. Again, they seemed reluctant to let us shift because "they were booked with reservations" - I was puzzled by this and said "well, can't the people who come take one of the other 8 tables?" and they did let us shift. [Note during the entire 1 hour that we sat outside, there a total of 2 other couples arrived - leaving at least 5 empty tables.]
The food was delivered promptly and my "lemonata" pizza was definitely interesting - flavorful and the dough was good. My friends got the Caesar salad which was good but too salty - the highlight was these delicious "tater tot" croutons - they asked for a few extra croutons and were initially told that they'd need to be charged for a side order of tater tots - which seemed ridiculous but they reluctantly agreed. Fortunately, when the waiter brought a handful of croutons he said "I was able to get them for you for free". My friends also had "the balls" pizza which was average - nothing special.
We checked out, gave our credit cards (a bit surprised by a 3% "kitchen share" that had not previously been disclosed), added our tips, signed our slips and left the signed copies on the table. Later that evening I received a call saying that "you left the restaurant without closing out your check, did you want to leave a...
Read moreI can’t say I am impressed with the experience at this establishment. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was good, but the bread and butter appetizer for 8 dollars was just 2 pieces of bread that every other restaurant gives out for free. The butter that came with the bread was good, but that shouldn’t command 4 dollars per slice of bread. Unfortunately, the 8 dollar bread ended up being one of the best things we ate. Two pairs of the scissors for the pizza literally fell apart and almost cut my friends hand as it fell. The gooseberry “special” pizza was actually disgusting. I have a hard time believing anyone thought that was a good idea for pizza. The other pizzas weren’t terrible, but I thought a fig and bacon covered pizza would be a lot better. The regular cheese pizza and mushroom were the only good ones. Overall, the pizza was just very disappointing and had way too much crust and not enough topping area. The pizza is very fluffy. A little bit of crispiness would have been nice. The dough did have a nice flavor. As for the service, the server was very nice, but it seemed like she lacked experience. For a place charging these kinds of prices, you should be hiring servers with more experience. For example, a couple of plates would have been nice rather than the tiny plate we were given in the beginning for the bread. Also, one of us wanted another drink and never got the opportunity to order it until it was time to leave. My money will not be spent here again. I hope you can manage to fix some of the issues in...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I eat here for the first time on the recommendations of a friend. There is a chill retro vibe in this restaurant with its Decor being somewhat unique like a village bar that's been around for a long time. The walls are decorated with a graffiti like effect including the bathroom with some interesting pictures like a picture of Elvis and Nixon shaking hands As far as the food.... We were left disappointed when one of our appetizers came to the table Stone Cold. The waiter was excellent though and apologized for it coming out that way and promptly said he was going to take it off our bill and asked us if we would like another appetizer at no charge. The chef did send back the original appetizer pernour waiter, so we cou still enjoy it, which we were told was cooked fresh but even that appetizer was lukewarm to warm. We ordered a margarita pizza to share since I did not want to have any meat. It had a pretty wide puffy outer crust around the edges but I found the margarita slices to be very soppy from the sauce with a thin crust underneath the toppings. It had no integrity to the slice and the cheese fell right off as you tried to pick it up. Overall it was a somewhat disappointing visit for $55 dollars before tip. We are going to try it again sometime because their burgers are supposed to be...
