Was walking around doing some errands and saw this place on Google maps before heading out so stopped by.
Ordered 2 lunch specials, moo goo gai pan and beef and broccoli. Been eating Chinese food for over 30 years so I gauge the cook on these 2 dishes.
Licked the lid off the hot and sour soup as it was dripping, tasted a strong over powering amount of sesame oil, but not in the soup so that was good.
Wonton soup was well seasoned as some taste like water. Has a good flavor of pepper. But the wontons like most places is mostly dough, barely can taste the meat. Would rather have less wonton dough even if it looks smaller to have meat to dough taste ratio.
Moo goo gai pan was ok as some places use what I call grade F meats that are so rubbery it tastes fake (those places I stay away from). Vegetables looked fresh, no black streaks in the cabbage. One of the bamboo shoots tasted a little funny though...
Beef and broccoli meat wasn't rubbery as well but not the best I've had in this area. I probably wouldn't order that again, but edible. So far the best beef and broccoli is at mizu in New city. As I believe they use higher quality meat and better flavor.
Fried rice was ok, tasted a hint of ginger.
Overall not bad if you need a quick fix on Chinese food. Can't say about any other dish.
Ordered the Boneless Rib Lunch Special. Enjoyed it a Lot. I had been Ordering it for about a Decade from another local Chinese Takeout in Thiells. Hadn't been there for about a Year. Tried it this past week and No Good, No Bueno, Just Bad. I had ordered from CHINA WOK in Haverstraw and Decided to Do it Again. Two Thumbs Up. Much better then Thiells. I'll Definitely...
