A & S Bagels is a bagel lover’s paradise—and the long lines at the cashiers and even an on-site ATM are a testament to its popularity. This unassuming spot combines efficiency with quality, making it a go-to for locals and bagel enthusiasts alike.
We pre-ordered three dozen assorted bagels by phone, ensuring a seamless pick-up experience. The bagels were fresh, chewy, and had that perfect New York-style texture that only a seasoned bagel maker can achieve. Alongside, we grabbed their cream cheese and cream cheese with lox, both of which were creamy, flavorful, and rich—an absolute treat. The lox was particularly fresh and perfect for our friend, who’s a fan of its briny, smoky goodness.
The deli counter is well-stocked with premium Boar’s Head products, and their shelves are filled with everything from spreads to beverages, making it easy to build the perfect bagel spread. Plus, the festive decor and friendly staff made the visit feel warm and welcoming.
If you’re in the area, A & S Bagels is worth the stop, whether you’re stocking up for an event or craving a classic bagel and schmear. Pro tip: Call ahead if you’re ordering in bulk—it’s worth the time-saving...
Read moreNot for nothing but I grew up on these bagels but it’s just not the same anymore. I keep trying to give the benefit of the doubt and was excited to see them serve the breakfast grill 24/7 but soon realized that god forbid you ask the afternoon staff for eggs, you get greeted with a sigh and hidden eye roll from miss solar ray blocker 3000. Then to mess up a basic bagel spread I just don’t understand, your supposed to spread the “spread” not lump it dead center and press down on the bagel in hopes of it spreading because all that does is make it come out the center hole like a play dough play set. I go to split the bagel in half and 2/3 of the spread has fallen out onto the parchment paper. Just truly isn’t what it used to be, wholesale got to the big wigs in charge and they could care less about the small customers and the lack of standards, respect, consistency and quality by the staff behind the counter shows you that. Once they got the awards it sealed the rotating door to where now they can serve and do whatever without it hurting the bottom line. Truly a shame used to be proud of this place, would take my out of town family and friends there but...
Read moreI am so extremely disappointed in A&S Bagel. My husband traveled from North Carolina to Long Island on personal business. As always we stop by and bring bagels by the dozen to bring back to North Carolina. My husband ordered on Friday May 1st and paid for 3 dozen bagels ($46.80) to be picked up early Sunday morning May 4th. Unfortunately my husband had forgotten to pick up the bagels before traveling back home. I called A&S Bagels immediately when he didn't have the bagels with him. I was hoping that they can ship the bagels down to us, I was willing to pay the shipping charge. I spoke with a women on the phone and she said she needed to check with her manager. She called me back and told me they can not ship the bagels. They didn't offer me the refund on the bagels, even though we paid in advance for them and never picked them up. I will never ever buy another bagel or anything else from them when we go up to Long Island and I will spread the word of how how their customer service sucks and how they cheat people. My first phone call tomorrow morning will be the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.
