Also posted this on Yelp but had to also post here, this place deserves every good review it can get! Insanely good!! I think this is the best greek food I've ever had, for sure a hidden gem! First, the service is amazing. The owner is so friendly, my mom and dad went in first for a snack and were so impressed, they told me I had to go. The owner actually has experience in michelin star restaurants, from Milo's (a very popular greek restaurant in Manhattan) to the four seasons hotels, he knows his way around when it comes to cooking for sure! I really can't say that about just any place on long island.
While the place is small and you don't notice it at first, it's very well decorated and I actually really enjoyed the ambience! The music is good and it's such a nice place to just sit down with family and chill while eating. As I said, the owner is also very attentive and will come over to talk to customers/guests. The takeout is also very good too, both while dining in and getting takeout I feel the food doesn't take too long to prepare!
Close to (if not everything) is imported from Greece, the food is so fresh and goes down so smooth! It tastes INCREDIBLE. I started off with an orange soda that the owner told me is popular in Greece and he drank growing up, it was so fresh and delicious! I really hate most soda since it tastes so artificial and too over sweetened, but this was so perfect.
And the food itself is amazing. I really don't get excited over just any meal, but every single item on the menu I've tried is so damn delicious. The chicken gyro is soooo good, I love chicken gyros in general but this one is the best I've ever had. There's a perfect amount of sauce and the ingredients ratio is balanced very nicely! Also if you want extra sauce, there's no problem asking for some on the side which I did! My parents, sister and I also shared the platter; and even though it's meant for two, I believe it's a lot of food! We had the salmon and chicken, it was all gone by the end. Every component of the dish was great, from the protein to the rice. I was so stuffed but I just kept eating because it was so good! Also the greek salad is very delicious, I'm usually not a fan of greek salad but it was seriously incredible. The feta cheese was also just so fresh, I could really eat just a pound of it alone it's so addictive and delicious.
And of course we had to get dessert, and the first time I had was with takeout dessert from them when my parents brought me back some food. It was so good I ordered three different desserts and told my family I wasn't sharing any because it's just too good and I'd eat it all! I'm very picky about my desserts, I'm a home baker since I was 12 so usually I try dessert but wind up unsatisfied since it's nothing I can't make at home, I've tried many many different bakeries on long island. But these desserts were just so amazing no matter what I tried it was so delicate, flavorful, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and moist. My favorite so far is the baklava, the orange cake is such a close second though especially if you're looking for something lightly sweet. Each dessert literally melts in your mouth, just as good as the main entrees and appetizers, probably my favorite part!
Overall, such an amazing place. Over time I know it will get even more popular, this place deserves it. It's a big thing to say, but this is the best greek on long island that I've had at least! I will continue as a regular, the food and everything is just so good! I highly highly recommend coming here, the prices are just as great as the food in my opinion especially for the quality you're getting! It's small, but the food is so big in taste and quality it doesn't matter. It's slowly becoming one of my favorite restaurants on long island!!!
TLDR: Place is smaller and a hidden gem, but food is amazing. Come here if you're craving greek food and a warm atmosphere because this is the most authentic and delicious greek food I've ever had, some of the best food in...
Read moreThe Greek Brothers offers a delightful journey into Greek cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance transports you to the Mediterranean with its rustic decor and warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We started our culinary adventure with classic appetizers like spanakopita and keftedes and tirokafteri. Each bite was a perfect blend of flavors, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients and the skill of the chef. The tzatziki served with warm pita bread was creamy and refreshing, a true testament to authentic Greek recipes.
For the main course, we couldn't resist trying the pork gyro and souvlaki platter. Both the souvlaki amd the gyro was super tender and seasoned to perfction, served with a side of Greek salad and lemon potatoes that complemented the dishes perfectly.
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a glass of house wine which we were surprised by the quality later we discovered that it comes from the best wine regions of greece equivalent to napa valley CA so calling it "house" is a downplay and one of the best house wines we've ever had.
Dessert was a must, and we indulged in portokalopita and baklava. The baklava was perfectly sweet and nutty, while the portikalopita was exactly how it's made in Greece so super authentic.
Overall, our experience at the Greek Brothers was exceptional. The service was attentive, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was charming. All the recipes are authentic and most incredients are sourced from Greece. Whether you're craving a taste of Greece without taking an 11 hour flight or looking for a new culinary adventure, the Greek Brothers is a must-visit. We can't wait to return and explore more of their...
Read moreSuper excited for a new Greek restaurant opening up in the heart of Franklin Square!! We ordered a pita pork gyro, pita chicken gyro, and a pork gyro platter with french fries for dinner tonight. Platter options come with a Greek salad and your choice of French fries, sweet potato fried, Greek fries, lemon potatoes, or rice pilaf.
As you can see from the pictures, the portions were VERY generous with pork and chicken. The pork gyro platter came with the evoo on the side for the salad as well as the tzatziki sauce on the side. Fries were still crunchy by the time we got the food home for dinner. Both the pork and chicken were well seasoned and cooked just right (not dry at all!)
We dined out but the restaurant was very clean...in the dining area as well as the kitchen where all the food is prepared. The young lady at the front was also very friendly and thanked us for our patronage.
FYI, if you pay in cash 4% is taken off the bill otherwise 4% is imposed on the bill like many restaurants are now doing.
Looking forward to coming back and ordering other items from the menu!
Welcome to the neighborhood...
