For the people who said this is the best chicken they’ve had, they haven’t had BonChon… go check them out because this place don’t deserve the 4.8 rating. I know this is a popular Korean fried chicken place, they have one in NYC (which tastes better) but this place is subpar at best.
I was excited to see a spot open in Long Island but was sadly disappointed. I only live 5 mins away so the travel time shouldn’t make that big of a difference but the chicken was not crispy and their flavors aren’t that good and VERY SALTY. I need a gallon of water to recover from this meal.
The whole chicken… is the smallest chicken I’ve ever seen… I guess they frying baby chickens… idk if I even received all parts but they are smaller than the size of their wings.. biting into the whole chicken the bones are all soft and mushy… not the texture I was expecting and want… the original crispy is also spicy ???? Which was not advertised as spicy… their special sauce tastes ..wierd. Ok to the wings, their size is decent but their sauce is just way too salty (Gangnam) and not crispy.
Service: someone make this make sense? They sell half and half but only limited to 3 flavors….. when you ask to do half and half of other flavors their response is they “do their sauces to chicken in batches so they can’t split it up a medium order” but suggests me to order 2 small size of different flavors.. small is 8 pieces… medium is 16 pieces… so you’re telling me I cant have 2 flavors in the medium size cause you can’t split up the chicken to fry with sauce….. but you can fry 8 pieces for a small order (which is half of a medium order) sooo Ultimately he just wanted me to pay more for 2 small orders, then giving me 2 flavors for a medium order (difference of $1) when clearly he can fry in batches of 8 pieces… not impressed with service… and the food did not make up for it… overall not satisfied DO...
Read moreSo, we decided to come eat here after going to IKEA because my friend smelled barbecue on the way there. After much deliberation, I remember I had seen this place the last time I went to AutoZone. Backstory aside, here's my True and Honest review!
We got the cheesling fries, gangjeong boneless wings, and the chicken rice bowl - all of which partnered with a Coke and Diet Coke respectively. Let's start with the fries: sweet, crunchy, with a soft crunch that can only be obtained by a masterfully crafted French fry. If they served French fries in heaven, these would be served to the angels on GOLD. FREAKIN. PLATTERS. Final result for the cheesling fries: 10/10 amazing if you like sweet cheesy fries.
Next is the gangjeong chicken. Not gonna lie, we didn't know what gangjeong was and we still don't really know, but what our dumbasses DO know is that this chicken? Fire. The absolute CRUNCH is a thing of BEAUTY. There is no room for sogginess in this chicken. It's got that perfect fried crunch that's a stable crunch, so it literally STAYS crispy. I have stolen two of these baddies from my friend. Final rating for the gangjeong chicken: 10/10 friend said it was spicy. I informed them that they are a coward.
Last is what I got, the chicken fried rice bowl. This item is also available for a lunch special, should you find yourself here on your lunch break. It's an excellent deal as it's a substantial amount of food and it's filling. It comes with a fried egg, and this girlies, is the first time I've ever eaten a fried egg. And you wanna know what, divas? I WOULD do it again. And I plan to.
This place is fantastic, like how a crisp soda is when it's just that perfect temperature. I'm going to bring all my queer friends here because when you're friends with me you have no choice but to eat good food curated by yours truly. Peace...
Read moreThe place is spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. He explained to us about the wait time for our order and asked if we had food allergies. I ordered dine-in in person and to-go through the app. I loved the chicken wings which both flavored wings were crispy 🥰. I got Soy Garlic (small-8 pcs.) and Spicy Galbi (small-8 pcs.) The Soy Garlic- I felt needed a bit more sauce. The Spicy Galbi - I thought the spice level was going to be at a medium because the image on the menu had 2 fire symbols but it was a bearable spice. It didn't leave your lips burning kinda spice. Also, got the Kimichi Fried Rice with Cheese(+$2 charge). It was my first time having Kimichi Fried Rice and it was good. It had an egg with a runny yolk. I ordered as well the Cheeseling Fries to-go. This was different from the honey butter fries that I have had. It has a Mac & Cheese smell and flavor but the red sauce drizzle on it gives a sweet flavor with hint of a spice like cinnamon. I would like to try the other chicken flavors but Soy Garlic is my go to flavor. It would be nice if they offered korean drinks like a...
