Deli Boy — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I’m giving this deli 1 star for several reasons:

The food quality is seriously lacking. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and the bacon was so tough it seemed like it had been sitting out for days. The sandwich was completely forgettable. On my second visit, I witnessed a heated argument between the cashier and the person preparing the food. It seemed like there was some kind of mistreatment happening, and the employee making the sandwiches finally spoke up and said he wouldn’t tolerate being spoken to that way anymore. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. And finally — I ordered a simple BLT with cheese on regular bread for my daughter, and it somehow cost $15. That price is outrageous for such a basic sandwich.

There’s so many deli options just seconds away from this one. I will never...

Deli Boy makes great sandwiches. Very fresh and tasty ingredients. I only recently moved to the area so I have been to a few delis in the freeport Baldwin area. I would say that all my orders have been over the phone for pick up. Because of COVID I wont open rh e sandwhich but all of my sandwiches I have asked for cheese but everytime I get home .....there is none. Its my faukt though I know netter to watch my food being prepared and making sure all the ingredients are there. AI havent really fully enjoyed the sandwich becuae its missing a key ingredient. It hapoened again today. Gbey write the order down perfect on the ticjetbut the sandwich doesnt have evefything on it . Last time I will ever go to this Deli. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. I got home and every piece of bacon was undercooked. Absolutely disgusting. So I had to take every piece of bacon off and ate the rest of the egg sandwich. It's common sense to know that just about every person likes their bacon well done. The employees are friendly, but that doesn't compensate for the mediocre food. Drive a mile down the road East to Atlantic avenue Deli in Freeport. The difference is night and day. I actually got a bacon egg and cheese on a roll at Atlantic avenue Deli in Freeport yesterday. One of the best egg sandwiches I ever had.
