Gran Caffe Gelateria — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I visited Gran Caffe Gelateria with a few friends for a late-night dessert after dinner, and we were also looking for a good coffee spot. This place had great reviews, so we decided to check it out, especially since it stays open late.

The gelato selection was impressive, offering a variety of flavors at a great price point—definitely good value for the quality. The gelato itself was super creamy and delicious, better than many places I’ve tried before. I also appreciated that the portion sizes were generous.

As for the customer service, while the staff was polite, I felt the engagement could have been better. When asking about flavors and pricing, it was a bit of a one-sided conversation. Since it wasn’t too busy at the time, I would have preferred a little more interaction to make the experience feel more welcoming.

The coffee and espresso were also fantastic, with a surprisingly good value for the price. My friends and I were impressed with the flavor and quality.

One thing to keep in mind is parking—since it’s a corner shop, parking was limited, and we had to park about half a block away. If you're planning a visit, just be prepared for that.

The old lady in the front was so rude. I’ve have never encountered more disgusting service. What’s wrong with you lady? Take it easy, you still have a few more years to live!

The only reason I said “old” was to differentiate from the other young women that I have seen there. So you don’t blame the other girls who are very nice and polite. She needs to take it easy so she can enjoy her life that’s what I said. That’s just nothing comparing to her...

Had cravings for gelato so decided to try this highly reviewed Gelateria & was glad I did. Visited twice after that to try their hazelnut, tiramisu & red believer gelato. All comes with a little cookie & all the flavors we tried so far was awesome. The store itself is huge & offers a lot of Italian imported items as well as specialty coffee. I would definitely recommend this...
