My husband ordered breakfast for me this morning from this god-awful place. First they forgot the plantains and salad that he had requested in the meal when he called this nasty lady who was there had the audacity to ask him “what is she supposed to do about it? What’s the big deal. “ you would think the fact that they did not have something we paid for and did not disclose that they did not have it that this customer service lady in the front will have a better and more humble attitude, but instead she was rude. She was nasty and she hung up the phone on my husband and myself when we called. Let’s start with the salty dumplings, which I couldn’t even swallow and just had the worst and weirdest taste that I’ve ever tried in my life. I had a small taste of the Calalou and salt Fish and I was done after that. I didn’t even bother to try any more of the food that he ordered so we literally ended up sending them back. When we got to the restaurant, the lady taking the orders had such a his poor, moral attitude nasty. It’s a shame when you go to a Caribbean establishment and behave like the stereotype thats often depicted in social media skits, but this was my first experience having such a horrible interaction with anybody in a restaurant. They need to get rid of that lady at the front before they end up losing all their business altogether and closing down. It’s bad enough the food was nasty, but the representative for that restaurant made the experience even worse. I will never go back there urge anyone don’t bother. If I could honestly give this place no stars, that’s what I would do because they don’t...
Read moreI've had several meals at Kingston Grill, conveniently its walking distance from my house. There Jamaica dishes are truly Jamaica with their Oxtail, Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork meals being some of my favorites. On certain days, they carry specialty dishes like Stew Peas (with or without pig tails), Tripe & Beans, Cow Foot/Cow Skin and several others. Their seafood meals are also quite good. But what I like most is the option to customize my meal if needs be. This flexibility isn't offered by most restaurants, so on some days, I can tailor my meal to what I want for that day. The customer service is great, and the servers make you feel like a regular on your first visit. I guess that's why I kept coming back and introduced my coworkers to this spot. The only drawback is if you enter from the back of the building, the garbage disposal at the back of the building could be improved. Great place for food and customer service. You won't regret buying food here (whether dining, take out or delivery OR breakfast,...
Read moreWent for dinner for the family and got three large dishes. We ordered jerk chicken, jerk pork, and fried chicken.
The food came fully packed in their containers and was more than enough for a family of four. We had mixed vegetables and oxtail gravy on the rice. The rice was cooked perfectly and had coconut flavors, the ocxtail gravy was thick and delicious.
My favorite dish was the jerk pork. It was cooked very tender and moist. The pork absorbed the jerk flavors very well. The jerk chicken however did not absorb the flavor as well but was still good even though it did not taste like it came of off a jerk pan grill.
The fried chicken according to my jamaican wife was French fried and tasted excellent. The meat was moist and succulent. The chicken skin got soggy because it was sealed with the rice. So if you get that tell them to put the chicken separate in a paper bag.
It felt like we had a home cooked meal after we were done. And for that, it's well worth...
