Happened upon this truck by chance. Was looking forward to a good Cuban sandwich seeing it is named mamas Cuban kitchen. To say this was the worst Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had would be an understatement. It was basically a wish sandwich a roll wishing you had something in the middle. The Swiss cheese was non existent and the ham was so thin you could read the paper through it. Don’t even get me started on the dry as toast empanadas. Really my bad should’ve known better as when I approached the truck and the window was down and I walked away believing it wasn’t open. They called out to me and explained they kept the window closed so that the police did not hassle them. Being Cuban myself, I happened upon Mama's truck in Levittown and ordered the Cuban sandwich, because for me, it says a lot about the rest of the food served. The sandwich was perfect, the best I've had outside of Miami. The trick of authenticity with this sandwich is the ham, pork and pickles should be sliced thin. Just enough cheese and mustard with all ingredients in the correct proportions to each other. Thin bread toasted and pressed flat.
