Turnpike Bagels owns up to its extremely high reviews! I recently called less than an hour before closing. and bought the most delicious & freshest egg & multigrain bagels, whole wheat bialy & vegetable cream cheese. Although it’s a small shop, it is very well stocked, kept meticulously clean & mask wearing is enforced. Lilly was very pleasant on the phone and Marissa took my order when I arrived. She was most efficient at packaging everything in a speedy manner. My husband, son, daughter & I agree that Turnpike Bagels Deli & Bakery is superior and the employees bend over backwards to please customers which is a very rare find!!! Tim, the manager, truly cares about all customers and treats them most respectfully. He was very kind to my daughter with special needs when my husband & I brought her there separately. He greets customers by name and remembers their orders which is quite impressive. All employees focus solely on each customer, are professional and work very well as a team! The takeout & catering menus have a very wide selection to please everyone. Marissa informed me that I could call in my order in the morning or a day in advance & she will hold it for me until I arrive there since by the end of the day most of the popular bagels are sold out. I recently called in my order at 6am & spoke with Jasmine who was very sweet & friendly. When my daughter & I arrived at 10:30am to pick up my order Jasmine remembered my call, greeted us warmly & had our order ready right away with very little wait time. Shout out to Leticia & Hazel who are always very friendly & efficient when I call in my orders a day in advance! Bagels are consistently fresh & taste just as moist & delicious after freezing, defrosting in microwave & toasting. My family & I can’t wait to try different options on the takeout menu! We highly recommend Turnpike Bagels & Deli...
Read moreAfter going to Bagel Town for ages ordering their mini bagel platters, after maybe a year, tops 2, I called to place an order. After placing order, because I expected an increase in price, I asked what the total would be so I had money when I came to pick up. The person I placed order with said someone would call back which they did. First they started conversation and said this is so and so from Pantanos to which I replied from where? They responded referring to the order I thought I placed with Bagel Town. That’s ok so I said what’s up? The price of increase I thought would be maybe tops 10% more was 3 times the cost I paid the last time. I expected increase but never that! I said what happened that your prices increased by that much? Response was we took over Bagel Town now Pantano. So my response was so you are now a “Gourmet Deli” and justify increasing your prices to which the caller said well that’s the price new owner set. I naturally cancelled order and started looking for another place. I was having people over out of state and wanted to treat them to NY bagels. This is when I found a hidden gem. Yes it was more than when I purchased from Bagel Time, but I knew it would be. Everything went up but it was minimal compared to Pantanos. I placed order, picked up and served to out of state guests and let me tell you I was beyond happy. Everyone loved the sandwiches and presentation. The bagels were better and absolutely delicious. Tim was amazing and I would recommend this place a 1000% over any bagel place around. Kudos to Tim and his crew. Friendly, helpful and place was clean and packed. I now know why. This place is...
Read moreThis place is seems to be fairly popular with locals living or working around the deli. They have a really expansive menu, and were very patient as we took our time looking and asking questions. They get pretty busy in the mornings! My mom had a salmon and cream cheese Bagel without onions, and I opted for the high protein tuna salad with lettuce. There are plain bagels, specialty bagels (like Asiago), and a row behind the counter of the different breads and bagels they have. It's definitely worth stopping by, if only for the sheer variety of fillings. The bagel itself was tasty, although I did think it was a bit heavy, although that could have just been my perception because it's been a while since I've had one. I recommend checking out the menu ahead of time so you're not overwhelmed, especially if you're the type to not want to ask...
