Just came out of this establishment. Sad to say this was one of my favorites in Long Island.
I will no longer order from this place as I just had the worst experience by far in any restaurant cafe or anywhere.
The worker was extremely rude (heavy set male with long hair). He was rude from the time we ordered and when I finished paying 10$ a platter. I saw that there was enough meat maybe for the palm of my hand. Barely any rice. The platter was half empty. I was furious because I expect what I pay for….not a palm sized amount of chicken.
When I brought it to his attention in a nice way…he immediately huffed and puffed and mumbled under his breath and screamed at the nice fellow who was working the grill. He then sarcastically said do I want more salad or more napkins.
When it was done being repacked he walked over and literally threw the platter towards us and as I said thank you he walked away. All I heard was throwing of utensils in the kitchen (you can see all that goes on as it’s pretty open).
This is all in front of my wife.
Whoever the owner is, I will not be returning and this experience is the type I would tell friends and family to sway away from. From the disrespect and the insult of meat given for what I paid, I can literally go anywhere else.
I don’t even want this food anymore. Giving a platter...
Read moreAfter seeing that Naq’s Halal Food had all 5 star reviews, we decided to give it a shot. It is located in Island Park. I had never gone to any halal spot in that area but we drove there from Flushing to check out the hype.
The combo (chicken/lamb) over rice was super fresh! Their quality of meat supersedes that of other combo over rice platters’. We also tried the philly cheesesteak and chopped cheese. Both were good but we preferred the chopped cheese. It’s basically a cheeseburger but all chopped up! I think it tasted better than the philly because it was more cheesy, or maybe also the type of meat?
One thing to note about the “hot wings” on the menu is that they’re not actually hot wings. They’re just wings that aren’t seasoned, then you can choose whichever sauce to dip it in, or they can pour it onto the wings for you. Shahid explained to us that when they first got the store they were under the impression that they would be hot wings, but those were no longer made...Something along those lines—I was too focused on the food to pay attention to details 😂
We also tried the lamb gyro in a pita, as well mozarella sticks. Their food was fresh, and Shahid was running the store on his own. He was extremely kind and hospitable. We felt like we...

Every other Friday I work and every other Saturday I work I decide to treat myself to food out for lunch. Than I get tired and I yearn for a car nap and I end up paying in between $25 and $40 for Uber Eats to deliver me food so I can have a car nap on my break.
So I got hit with my Friday predicament, started feeling tired and decided to uber eats food to work. Naq's has a BOGO deal on Uber Eats. If I'm going to get uber eats I try to at least go for the BOGO deal. I got the lamb over rice added hot sauce, green sauce and white sauce.
My food was delicious so so so good! The rice had that Middle Eastern tangy taste that Middle Eastern rice has if you've ever eaten halal food or Afghanistan food or sometimes Indian food. My whole dish was so moist which I didn't mind, the sauces were such a good combination together. The lamb was soft and moist. Everything worked so well together in one dish.
If you're in the mood for Halal and you're near Island Park in my opinion Naq's is the...
