Newbridge Inn — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

It calls itself the Newbridge Inn cashing in on the name of a local place that was there up until the eighties. I was a steady customer of the original place from the 60" thru the 80" when it closed. The owners were 2 brothers Phil and Austin as well as the bar tender Emil. They must be rolling in their graves and vomiting over this hole in the wall. I stopped in one night to see what it was like and if there was any connection to the old place. I sat over 25 minutes while the bartender ignored me. I also realized he was also neglecting all the patrons who were there sitting at the bar with empty glasses.. He actually went into the back room and was out of sight for at least 10 minutes. When he came back to the bar I was hoping he was going to get me a drink. Three younger men came in and he ran up to them at the door and greeted them. He showed them 3 seats at the bar and served them 3 beers. He then again walked down to the other end of the bar. I was there 30 minutes while my curiosity about this establishment increased. I finally said to the fella sitting next to me that "I don't think this guy wants to serve me. He agreed. I said" I am better off walking across the street to the deli and buying a six pack". I picked up my money from the bar and left. This place may be all right for the regulars who are willing to tolerate this ignorant bartender but anyone new thinking about trying it out should avoid this place at all costs. To go there for a few drinks is a total waste of time as I myself...

I would like to take a moment to contradict the negative review post about Newbridge Inn and the owner Gary.

Newbridge Inn is a fine establishment and Gary is far from a jerk. Gary has graciously opened his doors to local organizations to hold fundraisers for the betterment of the community. Also, Gary is a warm engaging host making everyone feel welcome....
