Carvel — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I come here occasionally. Low-fat vanilla, always tastes and mouth-feels better than the whole fat. Today I went there and their network suddenly went down so it could not take my credit card. Even though I had cash, I was obstinate on paying by card. The teen cashier told me to wait as my ice cream was melting. This very nice (possibly impatient?) white lady insisted on paying for my ice cream but really they should've let me have it for free.

Again, thank you to that lady for paying even though covertly I had cash. LOL. I'll pay it forward next time. Also thanks to the bus driving lady who came to my car to give me her Wednesday BOGO free sundae before COVID.

I ordered a soft serve pistachio ice cream in a cone with sprinkles. The sign says $1.79 as the price. The girl rings it on the register and tells me $7.79. I pointed to the sign and told her what the sign says. She pointed to the register and told me what the register says. I asked for the manager/owner. He said the price is $7.79 and didn't seem to care what his sign said. Who pays that much for an ice cream cone? I left without making a purchase and will NOT be back. Avoid this rip-off place...
