Debbie and all staff at the Plattdeutsche are incredible at what they do. From the moment we first met with Debbie we loved her and were confident booking our reception. She is extremely personable, communicative, detail oriented, honest (which I found so refreshing) and such a sweetheart. Debbie and I hit off off and even though I can be a crazy one she embraced it and was always patient with me and my nuttiness. We did not feel even remotely confident with our previous venue and with her it was instant. She was honest about what she thought was worth upcharges and what not and she was spot on with all her suggestions. She was beyond accommodating with my decor and details I wanted and she understood my vision. Our wedding like any other had hiccups but the Plattdeutsches consistent service outshined them by far. From the staff to the food everything was wonderful. I've never been to a catering event here but it felt like I was with family they treat clients so well. I've also never been for regular evenings so I have never experienced the classic 'little Bavarians' which were DELECTABLE. The food at weddings I feel like is always a hard item but I can honestly say I tried multiple dishes and each was delicious. The amount of compliments were getting on the food is extensive. Our maitre D was such a kind and calming soul I knew my uptight self was in good hands. The servers and bartenders were wonderful, multiple family members told me they were consistently smiling and helpful. I can't begin to express my thanks to Debbie and the staff for executing such a wonderful night that I know was a success because of them. My husband and I cannot wait to have future events here. Great place, extremely reasonable pricing, local and a such a warm family astmosphere you cannot go wrong with...
Read moreI came to this restaurant based upon reviews. After this experience, I won’t be returning. When we arrived, there was only one other table with customers. This was at 5:30 so I became concerned about an empty restaurant at dinner time on a Sunday. The waitress came over, gave us menus and asked for drinks. After about 15 minutes, she brought everyone’s but mine. About 10 minutes later she brought mine and my wife showed her a drink that was loaded with fruit flies. The waitress apologized and brought another one and said no charge, but it still appeared on the check. I ordered smoked trout and when the appetizers were brought out, I was then told that they haven’t had trout for several days. The food was absolutely bland. The potato pancakes were barely warm and both the potato dumplings and pancakes were almost tasteless. My daughter and I ordered salads and both salads had a large amount of browned greens. I ordered the Bavarian platter and the sauerkraut was cold and the loin of pork has not fully cooked. My wife ordered the traditional Wiener schnitzel and was forced to eat red cabbage which also came out cold. When it looked as though we were finished, the waitress finally came back to the table, asked if we wanted boxes and never once asked if we would like coffee or dessert. My daughter finally took the initiative and said let’s go out and get some dessert or ice cream. And to add insult, I looked at the receipt when I got into my car and noticed a addition charge of around $4 because I put the large bill on my card. As I initially stated, I came to this restaurant based on reviews. I spent time in Germany during my military career and know real German food. What I experienced tonite was not even close and nor are the published reviews. My family will NOT...
Read moreI was meeting up with colleagues after work. All I knew was that I was to meet them in the Biergarten. Entered through the main entrance looking for my party. A few people were seated at the bar and some seated at tables. A lovely young lady hosting, did her best to help me find my party. After rattling off a few names, we figured out my party must be in the Biergarten. I walk out took a few turns and walk into an incredibly large space, with a large wrap around bar, benches, a band setting up, masses of people huddled around the bar and finally…MY PARTY!!!I I go to the bar which was swarming with people (whom I suspect are teacher…takes one to know one🤔😉🤭). At first, I thought it would take forever to get a shot and a brew. There were only two bartenders. To my surprise, service was very quick. Once I sat down, I realized the online ordering was an option. I ordered the hot wings and they did not disappoint. A dozen in the order and cooked to my specifications. They came back relatively quick too. Servers are very good at making sure they accommodate your needs as they frequently ask if you need anything else and they are very timely in their return, despite the number of people frequenting the place. As the evening wore on and I passed my self imposed curfew, the party moved over to an unsheltered area, equipped with couches and fire pits. A cool fall evening, sitting around the fire, drinks in hand good company, good conversation…super cozy! As the evening continued, the band began to crank out some 70’s hits. I HIGHLY recommend this place, especially for teachers who just want to unwind, have a carefree evening of imbibing and decompressing. The ambiance...
