I am a senior in high school who has interest in working in the beauty industry. I spoke to owner of the salon on the phone about the job, and he asked me to come to the salon to talk further. I went today to the salon and he looked at me straight up and told me he can’t hire me. The reason for not hiring me was not because I do not have the skills required; it was because I look too skinny for the job. His words were “you are too skinny for the job, customers won’t take you seriously”. This man and the lady working on table 1 next to the front desk had the audacity to comment on my physical appearance and body shame me and then frown ( plus make racist comments). I went and got my hair done there and was very unhappy . I left with my hair orange . she told me it wash after a few washes and it didn't . I went back and they said they would have to charge me to fix it. Then my friend always goes there to get threaded and they charge $7 but the last time she went they charged $10 she asked why it was raised and the woman told her the owner raised it . she said okay. when she came back the woman charged her $7 again she said "I thought they changed it to $10" the woman told her they put it back down . she found that weird and asked the girl at the counter and she said it was never changed to $10 . they spoke to the woman and she said she added tip that time . mean while she already gave her a tip. we called the owner and she didn't seem interested and said she would talk to her. she was nasty and wasn't very understanding . I attended rude dirty Salon and for a hair color and cut/blow wave by Galina. I left there with black roots and yellow, brittle, broken/destroyed hair, with a definite line around my head, like I was dipped in an ink pot. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, the whole place is clowns!, she replied 'not interested' and hung the phone up on me, she refused to make my hair right or offer ANY kind of refund or compensation. My husband visited the salon to discuss, and she was incredibly rude, folding her arms when he offered hand shake, and closing the door behind him after asking him to step into stairwell to discuss.
