Puerta Mexicana — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Never Ever Ordering from this place again. I had the worst experience in ordering food from this place. I walked in and was the very first in line. Ordered 2 Burritos and 2 Tacos. They tell me it's gonna take 30 minutes. I thought that was weird for something so simple to make, but ok I agreed paid them and proceeded to wait.

45 minutes later I ask if it was ready and they told me another 10 minutes because they were busy. Meanwhile the person who ordered after me had just left with 2 big bags. They proceeded to tell me with attitude that I had to wait even tho the cook said it was ready. I asked them to put it in a bag so I can leave already because the Smell was unbearable, it smelled like they were removing the grease trapped and it smelled like a dead body.

Instead they started to taunt me with my food in their hands asking me if I wanted the food or not. I said if its ready, why are you making this transaction awkward. Just give me my food as you've already wasted an hour of my time. They ended up telling me to give them my credit card because they weren't giving me my food. As if they were punishing me for being impatient.

Never ever had an experience this bad in my life. Anywhere else they would apologize for making someone wait an hour for 2 borritos and 2 tacos. I have no idea how this place is even operational. Maybe the food is that good, I guess I'll never find out. Went down the block to Habanero Mexican Grill instead. They were done in 5 minutes and absolutely delicious, at least someone around there came to the rescue for my taco night craving and actually cared for my business. The food here is awesome. I first was introduced to this place by my friend when he ordered doordash then i kept thinking about it again and less than 2 weeks later I drove to the location and come to find out. I pass by it regularly when I go to costco in oceanside. Birra tacos is probably better to have there or picked up instead of waiting on a delivery. The burrito's rice could've been a bit better but the stand out was the churros and the chicken quesidalls i needed that again flavors and quality were excellent. When i went to the location and ordered my food the staff was friendly. And not only did i get a chicken quesidalls & churros. I tried one the potato & churizo taco and that is a must get. Those 3 items alone and wanting to try more from the menu makes me want to introduce this place to so many others for pretty dam good mexican food that's not too far away. Now I have to see if i can get my meat based tacos on flour tortillas instead of corn(as good as the corn tortillas are) I'm curious to customize a bit. Definitely worth it. I had to drop off a return through FedEx and there was a small business that accepted FedEx returns in the same shopping center that Puerta Mexicana was located in. Fridays or Saturdays I usually treat myself to lunch out. I felt like Mexican so I stopped here.

I needed quick service to get back to work on time and they provided. My food was made pretty quickly.

I didn't really like the chips too much otherwise I would have given 5 stars on my review. They seemed a little bit stale and not as salty as I would have liked them.

The shredded beef quesidilla was slamming! So good! It had the right amount of cheese and lots of shredded beef. The flavor of the beef was great! I ate it with sour cream.

Besides the chips this is a great place to eat. Relaxing, Cool Decor a full bar if you want a drink, good food. I can happily recommend...
