When I went in there was only 1 person in front of me, and there was a ridiculous amount of staff behind the counter, I would estimate around 10 (this isn't counting bakers, etc). I waited a very long time, I would guess like 7-10 minutes which may not seem long if you think of a restaurant but in a bagel store, when your basically next in line, it was long. In fact, a line behind accumulated and went almost out the door. All I could think of is maybe they had a ton of to-go orders? Anyway, my service was OK, and it didn't take that long to get my order once I was waited on, but I only ordered 2 bagels with butter.
While waiting, a customer came up and informed a worker that she ordered & paid for an egg sandwich with cheese, and they didn't give her cheese. I personally can't eat egg sandwiches without cheese, so I get it, but mistakes happen. My shock was the way the staff treated this lady. The customer was very courteous when informing the employee of the error, but the employee spoke rudly and said, "I didn't wait on you!" The customer said "I know, it was that lady over there", so the girl yelled to the lady, to come over here, and when she did, the customer again kindly stated the problem, and the employee said in a non-friendly manner "I wrote down what you said, and they gave you what I wrote" and then walked away. The customer said (basically to know one since the employee walked away) "nevermind, forget it" and she sat back down and ate her sandwich.
This didn't happen to my order however, I can't believe how the staff handled this situation to someone who was being cordial about the mistake that the employee(s) made. I learn from my mistakes and experiences, I also learn from other people's mistakes and experiences. I will likely not return to this establishment because of how this woman was TREATED. Not because of the error, that stuff happens everywhere, but because how more then one employee treated her. Not to mention the incredible long wait to order, when, there was only one person ahead of me.
It's hard to find descent employees these days. I wish the business success in finding...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeaford bagels is a place that Iāve been coming to for 15 years. Itās a place that Iāve spent most of my Sunday mornings for breakfast over those last years. The staff was always extremely friendly, and the bagels and all their food were always great. Unfortunately I will no longer be going here. Over the past year or so Iāve been treated rudely, and it seems to me that they almost donāt care that you give them your business. Today was the final straw for me. I called up to place an order and was hung up on. I called back and was hung up on again. The third time I called a women answered very rudely. I asked if they were still making eggs, she responded with āyeaā I then asked may I place an order to pick up and she responded with āwe donāt take orders, you have to come inā I then drove to the store and arrived about 5-10 minutes after the call I placed (I live three blocks away) As I went to place my order they told me they are not making eggs anymore. I replied that I just called and was told that you were. A younger man then answered me,ā im sorry we just closed the grill and we are closing soonā. I then asked, you do not take orders over the phone anymore? He replied, āno, we are to busy for thatā (mind you their were 3 people in the place at this time) I decided just to grab a cup of coffee and leave. I waited for 5 minutes at the counter to pay while at least 5 workers walked past me and didnāt say a thing. I then politely asked a women if she could ring up my cup of coffee. She did ring me up but it seemed as if I was bothering her. I understand the the times we are in are rough but your customers should always come first. I own a pizzeria , so I understand whatās itās like to be in a fast pace take out environment. Iām really not one to leave reviews or complain. It really takes a lot for me to complain about a place, but after today I was so turned off. This place was always a 5 star establishment but now itās a 1-2 at best. The only reason I gave three stars is because the bagels...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to try this place based on mostly positive reviews. It has parking on the street and a lot in the back which was mostly full. Inside, there was a line from the front door the the back door which is fine , most bagel places are busy at 10am so it took about 15 minutes to get my order. While waiting I saw someone complaining about how long it took and being skipped over, she was quite irate.
I watched the girls cooking do a video(probably TikTok) of my sandwich and then call my name. I left and went to eat it and realized it was wrong and it had no bacon on a bacon, egg and cheese. So I had to go back and the girl wouldnāt turn to face me just said ā Iām listeningā, and then told her coworker she was just going to put bacon on it. I asked them to remake it since it was cold at this point and I had to come back. This seemed to annoy her further. Which then I overheard her talking about the customers today. Maybe if you werenāt concerned with making videos you would have made the order correct. I didnāt even ask for a new iced coffee which was now watered down between waiting and coming back.
Overall the sandwich was average , the bagel was nothing special and the customer service was horrible. Mistakes happen , but itās the whole reason it happened and then how it was handled and their attitude that will make me not come back. The girl who took my order was nice and wrote down the order correctly though, so...
