Swung by on a Sat afternoon at 5:30 with my foodie son. No wait for a table. We were seated immediately. The small funky place has graffiti and chalkboard covered walls with a distinct skater vibe. Extends to the similarly done bathroom[single one which may cause a wait]. There are small hidden ascents all around. From the payphone (remember those?). TV with built in VCR playing Fight Club. Neon over head lights and park benches on the outside seating. Even a MS Pac Man machine built into the wall which was free to play! Funky eclectic mix of music from 80s pop to current EDM. Felt like I was at a "cool kids" house for a party. I can't imagine the hard work that went into collecting all these décor elements. But it all comes together to make it a cool place. Insane.
Our server Daniel was super friendly and accommodating. Started off with an order of drinks and appetizers. Watermelon margarita (virgin) Lemonade Loaded Nachos which were quite good. My son scarfed them up in short order. Fried Doritos mozzarella triangles with an insane crazy cheese pull. Literally 5 FEET!
Then it happened. An internet outage prevented orders getting from front to back of house. This caused a backup in the kitchen and we were left waiting. Server came by to apologize. Appetizers came fairly quickly despite the issue.
Mains took quite a while to come. No doubt the systems issue along with what I would imagine a large take out footprint slowed things down a bit.
Pulled pork mac and cheese. This won the award for best mac n cheese in a recent NY State competition and for good reason. Creamy, sublime with great flavor. The flaming hot Cheetos on the top gave the dish a nice visual contrast. Pulled pork was well done with a nice smoky flavor and provided a good balance to the cream of the cheese. Steak tacos. Steak was tender and well cooked. Guacamole was smooth, flavorful and refreshing. Perfectly crisp and soft taco shells. Crema was well done and veggies fresh. Solid dish.
Larger shareable dishes are served in take out containers. Smart move.
By the time we were done an hour later the entire place was packed bar, tables, high tops Including outdoor seating. Only 2 servers were working which were super friendly but clearly overwhelmed by the system issue and still playing catchup.
A small mistake on the bill was quickly handled.
Overall. A solid establishment with a funky vibe. Worth a visit for the novelty of the place and the Mac and cheese. However I felt the whole was less than the sum of its parts. The decor and food were good but the slowi-sh service took away from the experience. Clever social marketing (they are unavoidable on TikTok) can put a place on the map like it did for Street to Table but being able to properly execute is key. Ill give them a pass due to the systems issue and would visit again to sample more...
Read moreStreet to Table is a delightful little restaurant on Merrick Rd and near Newbridge Road Park. It is a great local restaurant that we just stumbled upon after being at the Bellmore car show on Friday the 21st of June 2024.
The Staff: All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. When we arrived they came over immediatly to seat us and a young man by the name of Andrew was our server for the evening. He was very friendly and provided very attentive service to not only us but numerous other tables. We were very impressed.
The Food: Our waiter Andrew sat us down and took our drinks order and I got a glass of the Narragansett Lager. It was really nice and I would recommend it. For our food I ordered the "Street Birria Tacos" and my fiancée ordered the "Chicken Tacos". Both options were fantastic and I highly recommend the Birria Tacos. The Birria Tacos were so juicy and lightly spiced and it came with this beautiful consommé. Every bite was full of flavour and I personally would have drank the consommé if I was in my own home, it was that lip smacking good. The Chicken Tacos are made with chicken thighs and are served with guac, pico and a jalapeño crema. The meat was grilled perfectly and the whole dish is full of flavour! Both items came with 3 tacos each and were good portion sizes. In my opinion the one item as a main is more than enough food for anyone but by all means order their appetizers as their mac and cheese is supposed to be really good. They also have these drink pouches that I must try the next time I visit.
Layout: The restaurant has an outdoor area to the front of the premises and the main restaurant and bar area is all located in the one room.
Decor: When you enter the main bar and restaurant you are greated with loads of graphic designs, artsie graffiti and retro stickers that are dotted all around the main restaurant. One cool thing I noticed is that there is an old archaid games console in a corner.
Overall Opinion: Street to Table is a great spot to get some delicious food and it is also a good location to go for drinks. They serve delicious food with a variety of options on their menu to choose from. I highly recommend...

There was nothing wrong with the service or location its more towards the food as it is okay at best since it seems more oriented as a bar than a place to eat food. With the food being bland you’re better off getting something more affordable or making food at home and I’ll explain.
The Tandoori Chicken Wings were cooked well and were nice and hot but the sauce on top was lack luster it tasted like a it was just added onto the wing after being cooked rather than marinated with the chicken wing. while it did provide a spicy kick it wasn't anything to talk home about just your average wings.
-The Steak Tacos that I was asked “how would I like it done” and I told them “medium rare” and was given a well done steak that tasted plain no salt nor pepper just plain steak chunks that weren't really hot they were more just warm within a grilled taco that had plain guacamole in it, it wasn't really worth the price of 22.49 for 3 tacos meaning they were 7.49 a taco at that price you could have made one at home with more flavor.
Speaking of flavor the nachos were okay they as well had guacamole which was not limed or prepped to a flavorful taste of guac more of a plain quick guac you make since it didn’t have too much flavor for it and the chips, beans and the rest was okay at best.
I would only recommend it if you wish to view the interesting decor which is really nice but food wise i wouldn't recommend coming here if your...
