Tinnels Patties — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I visited the shopping plaza and was delighted to see a Tinnel’s Patties. I almost couldn’t believe it since I’ve only seen them in Canada. I was born and raised in Toronto so I spent many years frequenting Tinnel’s or looking forward to my mom bringing home a fresh box of patties for my brother and I to enjoy or carry to school. I promptly drove over and was warmly greeted by two friendly workers, Anna and Anne. They asked me if it was my first time and when I told them my story their eyes lit up. We were both very excited because we know about the deliciousness of the patties and food, and I am glad people in NY can now try it as well. Once you try these patties nothing can beat it! I moved to NY eleven years ago and still nowhere compares to Tinnel’s! They told me that the brother who owns the Toronto location is the chef for this Baldwin location so everything is measured out precisely and tastes the same way. I can attest that it is true. The patties as well as the jerk chicken with rice and peas were amazing! I live in Queens and will definitely be driving over to Baldwin as they now have a loyal customer. Walked in and was surprised at how clean and new everything seemed. The menu had a lot of the staples you would expect to see like oxtail and curry goat. They have sizes small, medium and large for your choice of plate which I found very cool since I eat very little and I never find restaurants that cater to this extreme!

We ordered the jerk chicken (medium) and how could we not get the beef patty. The jerk chicken was AMAZING. So juicy, the sauce was spot on and the rice/beans, so freaking good.
