We went here for the first time my birthday. We had visited Pomodorino Rosso(which is now Tepache) in the past and really liked the food. We had the La Diavola pizza(pictured) for an appetizer. Simply fabulous, especially the puffy crust. For mains, we had Lonza Pomodorino(breaded pork loin), Tagliata Toscana(skirt steak), Spaghetti Nerano(w. zucchini), and the Pollo Margarita(chicken cutlet). The pork loin dish was a little dry for my wife's taste, it could have used some balsamic dressing or a sauce. My steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious. My sons like their spaghetti and chicken dishes. We also had broccoli rabe as a side. The broccoli rabe was cooked with garlic and was tasty. I had a Negroni and we also had some wine. All in all, a pretty good meal. we would go back. Pricey but worth it. Forgot to add, the bread was very tasty as was the spread for the bread.

Layout/atmosphere *Taverna/rustic look; bar area partitioned off, two TVs; tables; chalkboard with specials; parking lot Service *Very attentive/helpful server Food/drink *Pulpo, Burrata E Carote (grilled octopus, burrata, fried carrot strips extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze) - Good; saltiness of the octopus, the sweet but crispy carrots *Spaghettoni alla Nerano con Gamberetti (thick organic spaghetti, zucchini, pan seared rock shrimp) - good; pasta cooked right, white wine sauce *Sautéed Stringbeans with Tuscan Breadcrumbs - good; extra on the garlic *Gelati (two scoops per order) - Pistachio, Chocolate; preferred the pistachio *Pinot Grigio “Conti Beretta” 2020 (white) - solid

This was amazing real Italian. Every ingredient was of high quality. The espresso martini was creamy. The bread was crispy and the dip was perfect. The pizza was the best pizza I’ve ever had. The ragu was tender. The pasta mista was unlike anything I’ve tasted in all the best ways. The pistachio gelati was a perfect ending to the meal.

What an exquisite restaurant in so many ways tucked away in the heart of Malverne village! A hidden gem if you will, upon the recommendation of a good friend I couldn't wait to check out the much talked about hype, beautiful stone outside w a large pane glass window showcasing the beautiful stacked bar with patrons, as we entered through the beautiful large wooden and metal door the gracious hostess was waiting for us, luckily I made reservations and we only had to wait a couple minutes, like some of the other reviews stated it does remind you a little bit of medieval times LOL but in a good way, just has a cozy rustic feel, dimly lit ,nicely decorated with Italian scenic pictures & large melting candles w a wonderful aroma throughout, the dining room was almost 3/4 full on a Sunday evening, wifey & i were seated by a couple large parties, and the noise level still wasn't that bad, we immediately got water and wonderful fresh warm and lightly toasted Italian bread with a mouth watering dipping sauce consisting of finely chopped what tasted like cannelloni beans Parmesan a little garlic and olive oil mixture, creamy goodness !! I was wise not to load up on the bread though and you'll see why !Luis came over to take our drink order and seemed very nice and informative, after a couple nice house white wines, we delved in! Had to go with the much raved about egg plant balls! OMG! They were gone as soon as the food runner dropped the plate on the table!, I'm not even a huge eggplant fan but just the way they were prepared w great texture, just the right amount of eggplant and italian herb mixture and the sauce was just nothing but flavor & perfection! Tasted homemade as can be like Nonna was in the back rollin em!Lol,onto the Brussels sprouts!yes I said brussels sprouts, perfectly sautéed w balsamic vinaigrette, parmesan reggiano of crse, pancetta and I believe pignoli nuts.. outstanding! And good for you!Lol,the burrata was next & like the rest certainly did not disappoint!came w roasted peppers and grilled hot copa! The Burrata cheese was so creamy and to grill the hot copa was ingenius! Amazing flavor throughout!, A must have order!trust me,now I love how Luis the waiter brought the Burrata cheese as the middle course!, no rush feeling here, finally onto dinner! I went with the special venison ravioli! I listened my fellow yelp elite reviewers after they stated the specials should not be ignored here! Boy were they right,Even though the menu entrées are outstanding by themselves, this was an amazing dish especially if you are a fan of venison like I am, you could tell it was made fresh that afternoon, the venison meat was so tasty & tender, not to salty and the sauce on this this was just absolutely mouthwatering in every way! I'm still licking my chops morning after!wifey went with the gnocchi and was able to pick her sauce, she went with butter/sage, great portion great flavor perfectly rolled gnocchi that was some of the best I have had after I had to twist her arm to share!Lol finishing up with a totally rewarding brownie crumble dessert was the perfect completion to a phenomenal dinner that has me wanting to go back for...

I had my daughter's baptism celebration at Uva Rossa. We have countless family parties so we are well versed in all things catering halls, restaurants, ect. When I say I was completely in shock of how wonderful Uva Rossa was for us I cannot stress it enough. Anna who helped us book Uva Rossa was a complete delight and was so kind and friendly. She walked us through everything and booking was a breeze. Anna was also there that day of our celebration and made sure we were taken care of and if there was anything we needed throughout the night. Miguel helped us throughout the night he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We've been patrons of Uva before and their food is just as good as there hospitality. My in-laws are from Sicily and food is always the center of everything and how they express love to one another is through food and when I say Uva nailed it we mean it! Of course everyone ordered steak but I got the Uva Rossa Chicken and when I say don't sleep on that dish I mean it-- absolutely delicious! The sangria are top notch and their cocktail selection not only delicious but the attention to detail is superb. I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Anna, Miguel, the chef, and all that contributed to making our daughter's...

I’d like to start off by saying that I have been here multiple times, and every experience before this has been relatively good. This time, however, was less than stellar. While i went to celebrate something with my college friends, the waiters and general staff, besides the lovely woman at the door, seemed to not take us seriously. There was a general sense of disregard— maybe because the assumption would be that since we are visibly young, we wouldn’t buy much— and we felt disrespected. The waiter did not care to ask each of us for what drinks we wanted, opting for a “what drinks you want” to the table. Furthermore, he failed to ask for appetizers and instead, we had to ask him as he fled away from our table after barely hearing our drink orders. The whole experienced seemed rushed, and even when ordering food, the waiter didn’t show a lot of respect, waiting a substantial amount of time to ask us what we wanted. We are not entitled to the most swift and royal service by any means, but we felt generally disrespected. It wouldn’t dissuade me from going again, per se, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth (the only bad taste :) )

The food was good.

It wasn’t a particularly busy night, either. Half of this exchanged happened when the back room had only one...
