I am going on my 16th year at Dental Works in Malverne. If you have a fear or anxiety about going to the dentist, this is the place for you. Dr. Maria Casvikes, her sister Vicki (receptionist), and the whole staff are so friendly that they make you feel right at home. Dr. Casvikes is a gentle dentist. You know when you go to her you will get the best possible dental care. She explains what she is going to do step-by-step to make sure you are comfortable. A few years ago, I went to a party celebrating her 20th anniversary at Dental Works. So many patients showed up and nothing but kind words were said about her. And they weren't there just for the food (which was great) but for their appreciation of her being a compassionate person. I leave at least 15 minutes early for my appointments to hear Vicki talk. She is one of a kind, a mixture of kind curiosity, funny, and thoughtful. She makes sure that everything works smoothly for the appointments, insurance plans, emergencies, etc., and still has time to have a nice conversation with you before your procedure. I don't know how they do it, but you never wait more than 15 minutes to get in, and you never feel rushed while you are there. Once you go there, you'll never want to go anywhere else....

After being a patient of Maria’s as a child, I have found myself back in the chair in Malverne and I could not be more grateful. The staff and doctor are so professional, thoughtful and kind. As a returning patient, and after many attempts to find another dentist, I had to learn the hard way that dental insurance is not as common as I expected it to be and a good dentist is hard to come by. I stopped trying to be a good patient after my 3rd attempt looking for other dentists due to having relocated to the city. After ten years or more, during a pandemic, I scheduled to return to Malverne for a cleaning, scaling, etc. Going to the dentist isn’t particularly pleasant but I have to say that of all the doctors I’ve encountered, this dentist office is by far my most pleasant where I’ve felt safe, taken care of, in excellent hands and not as if I had been taken advantage of financially. Maria and her staff are super competent and they’ll ease you through the discomfort if any. I cannot recommend...

If I could give Dr. Maria, Vicki, Samantha, and Marelyn 10 stars, I would. Who enjoys going to the dentist? Who actually looks forward to it? Well, me! And my kids. And hubby. My 5 year old daughter begged me to take her with me to my appointment yesterday. And her brothers were jealous they didn’t come this time! (The treasure drawer and Dino!) On a serious note, I’ve been with all of my family members for all different sorts of appointments, regular cleanings, cavities, injuries, consults… Dr. Maria treats us like we’re extensions of her family. Vicky has hung out with my kids on numerous occasions while I get a cleaning when I couldn’t get a sitter. I can’t begin to tell you how much it means. They are gentle (I almost doze off), thorough, make helpful suggestions. I just love them so much!
