Kookaburra Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I have been frequenting the Kookaburra Malverne location on and off for several years. The only downside is they close a bit early for my schedule and they only take cash. Other than that, this location is full of phenomenal humans. The customer service is unparalleled. Every single time that I can remember there that’s been a superb interaction with the baristas and the clientele. Today one is the baristas wishes a client Happy Birthday anniversary wishes and the client was so moved. Heck, I was moved. A couple of months ago I was here and heard a client place an order and received the order and said it wasn’t what she ordered. In many cases folks would get annoyed as they made what the client requested, but the barista was so kind and professional, but mostly so kind and understanding and she remade the clients order and offered the “mistaken” beverage for the client to take at no charge. It was such a great moment to witness. The energy in here is quite welcoming and positive. Our furry babies are welcome and everyone is treated with respect and kindness.

When our PTSA requested a donation for our Supermarket Bingo they didn’t hesitate for a second. 🙏🏽

Is customer service dead! This is my question. A popular hot spot in town and I have been on a regular basis it’s always the same no hi no I will be right with you, annoyed for a question on a coffee or a food item. It a common conversation between friend coffee and food are nice but always feel like I’m bothering some of the staff. Sorry my may I please have is so offensive. Maybe it’s because of the relaxed vibe as it stated but a simple good morning is not that hard or are you being helped. With family visiting from overseas I said let me pop up and pick up some food items. No coffee as I’m not a fan but the food items are very good. I walk out after being skipped over sever times. I get it! it’ was early on a weekend morning also I should say hey sorry but I was next that not on me that should be part of the customer experience rather that being annoyed that there people in the store. My wife and I came here and we like to have an early date in the morning. Staff was super helpful and got us out hot beverages very quickly. They have bagels, and some pastry options. Unfortunately, for us vegans, not many vegan pastries but I understand why; maybe they'll be more in the future. All kinds of coffee options as well as regular and alternative milks. For the seating there were about 2 or 3 tables with 4-6 chairs in the front and about 3 or 4 tables in the back hallways that each had 2 chairs. The bathroom was kept clean by the hard working staff. I definitely recommend supporting places like this if your looking for an early date place with your significant other, working on something by yourself, or just need some coffee from a wonderful small business...
