Beef's — Restaurant in Town of Horseheads

We were staying in the area overnight on our way back home from Niagara Falls. Between Google and the trucks GPS, we decided to eat here.

First thing to know, not being local, the only accept cash. There is an atm on site.

Longstanding "dive bar" type establishment off Hanover Square. While it was a magnet for underage drinkers when I was a kid, it's seemingly evolved into a rather well-lit place for cheap beer and decent bar food. The music seems to be all over the place depending on when one chooses to drink there, but the staff is friendly and the other patrons tend to be as well. (2022) Ordered a hamburger, specifically said "no cheese" and it came with cheese. They asked how I wanted it done and I said medium; it came "make sure it's dead and buried" - it was so well done the outside was burnt black and the inside was extremely dry, like difficult to swallow dry. Besides that the prices are ridiculous for what you get.

(2023) Went to the "new" Beef's today to get lunch takeout. Breaded mushrooms were burnt and way too salty. Side of mac & cheese is half the size it used to be and...
