My go-to Chinese food spot.

Been coming here for years and they are quite consistent. They are NOT hit-or-miss. If anything, there are days when I’m expecting the usual great taste, but for some reason, it tastes even better!

I’ve had delivery in the past, but it’s become routine to do pick-up, because I actually like the staff. They’re friendly on the phone and in-person. They don’t mess up the order either.

Now the food… I’ve craved Chinese food on Tuesdays and Chef King is closed, resort to ordering from a different place, and I’m always disappointed. Gotta order from here for that classic American-Chinese Food.

I’ve had most of the items on the menu but I stick to my favorites (which I’ve attached in photos). First, scallion pancakes. I’ve had these all my life and they don’t taste as good as these. Not to mention, they give you more than just 4 slices, they loadddd it up in one order! The mei fun is always so flavorful. I usually do vegetable but feel free to add meat! Tofu and broc. with brown sauce (fried tofu) feel free to do beef instead! Best brown sauce. Never tastes as good from other places. Classic egg foo young (shrimp pictured). Like the brown sauce previously mentioned, their egg foo young gravy is soooo good. Some places are too sweet, they make it so savory and delicious.

Honorable mentions, shrimp roll, any dumplings, chicken wings, egg drop soup. Whatever you like from Long Island Chinese food, try ordering...

It’s a shame I have to leave such a lowly review because their food is actually great. But I write this mainly because of the service, particularly when ordering ahead for pickup. Every time I have ordered ahead, even up to 20-30 min in advance, I have always been told 15-20 min (which is fairly a standard time frame to say) before the food is ready. But every single time I arrive, it takes that same 15-20 min to walk out with the food irregardless if I am there alone or when packed. The most recent time I called at 1:21pm. Arrived at the restaurant by 1:41 and didn’t walk out till about 1:57pm. Only reason why I knew the times so precisely because I was in a rush to bring this order along with other picked up food to my family at home. 16 minutes isn’t too bad if I had ordered on the spot, but to me unacceptable when I ordered on the phone ahead of time. The guy asked me TWICE when I got there what I ordered which confirmed to me they didn’t start cooking till I showed up. Like I said, it is a shame especially when I can just go to Golden River less than 5 min away on Jericho Tpke with the same quality food and would have had the same order ready with the same time...

I order here somewhat often when I'm craving some decent Chinese take-out. A typical order for the family is usually mapo tofu, pork egg foo young, beef lo mein, shrimp fried rice, and sautéed string beans. The combos give a good amount of food and the sides are not bad. I've never been unhappy with the food, and I'm usually stuffed afterwards. I think the main problem they have is their timing. Even if it's not so busy, which is not often, it still takes an extra 20-30 minutes on top of the time they initially told you. So if you show up "on time" after they told you "25-30 minutes," you will probably be standing there for another 20 minutes. I still order here regularly because it's good food, but just have to plan the time...
