Órale Güey Taqueria — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I heard about this place from a friend and I decided to make the trip to see if it is worth the hype. Let me just tell you, it was sooo worth it! I live about three hours away from there, but after this experience, I would gladly make this drive again.

The moment I arrived, I was blown away by the atmosphere. There was good music playing, everyone was incredibly friendly, the energy was amazing, and even though there was a long line, the service was quick as I was able to get my food quickly.

Now, about the food, to me this was truly life changing. it's hard for me to find authentic flavorful Mexcian food where I live, this feels like finding a hidden gem. Every bite just made me want more. I loved it so much that I went back and placed a second order before leaving! (Had to take one for on the road!)

I'll definitely be returning every chance I get. Honsetly, they need to open a location closer to me because if I lived closer to them, you would see me there every day. If you are considering coming here, I'll tell you this: STOP THINKING ABOUT IT AND GO!!! YOU WON'T...

My family called ahead to place a decently sized order, thinking it would save time. When I got there, the girl at the window handed me one bag and asked, “Is this it?” I told her I didn’t know. It was my first time there, and I had no idea how much food should fit in a single bag. She then handed me a second bag and asked again, and then a third bag and asked once more. It was frustrating because they’re the one who prepared the order, yet kept asking me to confirm if it was complete. All the bags were tied shut, so there was no way for me to check even if I wanted to.

When I got home and took my first bite of my torta, I immediately noticed a curly, light-colored hair inside the sandwich. It was embedded in the food, not just sitting on top. I have straight long black hair, so it definitely wasn’t mine.

Between the disorganized service and the unsanitary food, I won’t be coming back here. Definitely not worth the risk...

The tortas(Sandwiches)are amazingly good and humongous…..to those big guys who have a super appetite like me,i highly recommend you guys try LA TORTA CUBANA……fully loaded with meat,ham,cheese,sausage,lettuce,tomatoes,avocado,etc…..if that is your first time going there,trust me try LA TORTA...
