Bagel Boss East — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I went to this store with my 2 years old and wife we both asked for an egg and cheese bagel two coffees and plain mini bagel for the young one.she said eggs? Like no one orders them...she was just very annyed that we ordered egg sandwich at 2pm..it was 2 o'clock so they pulled the coffee to the back already, while one lady was cooking the eggs she asked the other one to ring me up 2 bagel with egg and cheese 2 medium coffee and minibagel ,It was $14 something Igave a $20 bill took my change ,lady finished making the sandwiches put them on the tray and told me to take that to the table and come back for the coffee...I responded no thank you I'll wait I wanna enjoy them together, so she punished me by making me wait ,I asked for my receipt but she couldn't produce since they already ring up another customer after me ,she said the manager can do that ..I went to one of the tables started eating with my wife ,my son didn't eat his minibagel ot was hard as rock, by the time we were almost done she came back with a receipt and said I didn't give them enough money on the receipt it said bagel egg 4.50 then 1.50 for cheese $6 for single egg and cheese bagel 2 ofthem $12 .. 0.90 cent for mini bagel and 2 coffee's she brought a ticket that said 19.65...she said you owe us $5 no problem the change they gave me was sitting on the table so I said i have you 20 you gave me this let me take 35 cents and handed the rest to the lady...I immediately took a picture of the receipt and started writing a complaint on their franchise web site which they saw and didn't like that's when they started talking bullsgit in Spanish like they are the only ones who speaks it, the older gentelman said look at these miserable dogs they come here making problem, after I told him you are not the only one who speaks Spanish they switched up making animal noises bunch of meow s and bunch of barkING sounds as we were leaving they also said there they good barkbarkbark...they have definitely failed mental hygiene...

Just moved to town yesterday and this was my closest bagel spot. Got 2 egg sandwiches for my wife and I. Halfway through eating them we noticed it tasted a little off so we opened the sandwich and saw some green. I decided to go back and ask for either new sandwiches or a refund.

As soon as I explained what was going on I got nasty looks from the person helping me stating it was just green dye and the bagel was fine. I replied sure, it could be dye, but it still tastes funny and we only noticed the green after the taste. The dye thing actually made more sense while being in there and seeing the multicolor bagels, but we still knew it was way off from the taste which I continued to explain.

After that 2 other people came forward and started speaking a little loudly to me saying I was wrong and there was no way there was mold. I explained for probably the 4th time I understand but it could be something else because of the taste.

They continued to tell me how wrong I was and that I should just eat what was there so I said they could just keep what was left and walked out.

There will always be issue with food here and there, it happens and if it was just that I wouldn’t even do a review. However to get yelled at and told that I’m wrong in public when I was trying to be as reasonable as possible is crazy to me.

I’m starting to see where the short guy who was berated in a bagel boss was coming from. If they picked on me over an honest complaint I could only imagine what they did to that poor guy before the camera...

This place it's way over priced to food that they sale and it's not even fresh. Their bagel spreads are sitting in the fridge for days and has formed a dark dry crust on it. Also, the prices on items in the fridge area aren't marked. On 02/27/2025 I wanted to buy boiled eggs that are sold 3 in a plastic container for $2.99. When I wanted to pay the men who was at the register said that the eggs are $3.99 bc the price of the eggs went up. I said by law you need to charge me the exact price as on the item $2.99, not a fictional price bc you said so. At Bagel Boss every day they change their price depending on how they woke up on that day. Also, when paying with cash they never provide a receipt to the customer and by law they should. After I paid and while I was walking away I heard the Spanish girl with the long ponytail who works there, started talking badly and gossiping about me in Spanish to the guy who wanted to overcharge me. Actually the staff constantly badmouth customers when they don't like the customer or the customer makes an observation to their service/food. There is no respect and professional courtesy from the staff. The management is no different. One of the worst bagel places for food, service and environment. Spend your money in places that at least they show respect the customers and don't...
