This Greek restaurant is the closest to me and decided to go get a take out. The place looks clean and well maintained, the ppl were pleasant. Walked in and ordered the pork gyro, tomato, onion, tirokafteri, sea salt fries, tzatziki on pita. First thing the food was cold. The pita was very cold, the meat was very chunky, dry and lukewarm, 8 pieces of cold dry sad fries, one slice of tomato and one piece of read onion, some tzatziki and tirokafteri. This supposed to be served warm not cold! The meat supposed to be warm, shredded and juicy with plenty of fresh fries, tomato, onions served on a warm pita. Sadly it was a waste of money as it was over $14, which is overpriced for the quality of food that it’s sold. For that money that they charge it should be served a good warm fresh meal. I am not running a restaurant, but I will prepare this dish much better, tastier and appealing. This place needs a major improvement in the food quality area, serving the food fresh/warm and following the actual traditional gyro recipe, served at the right temperature, and good portions of any ingredients that comes into this dish. Definitely I am not going back and will not suggest to anyone!!! It’s a shame that this restaurant just cares about making money, disregarding the...
Read moreReally upset with the service today, my mom and I stopped here quickly to grab a Greek salad and we have always loooooved this place. My mom went in by herself, and ordered a Greek Salad and wanted to pay with card. But apparently they have a 10 dollar minimum on card, their was no sign so we didn’t realize that was the case and considering it’s a pandemic we haven’t been using any cash just card. The women was really rude to my mom and kept throwing the bag with the salad around behind the counter and stating that she needed to purchase something else to be over 10 dollars. My mom was saying she really didn’t need anything else and asked if she could please make an exception. She just kept on saying no, so my mom said ok I’ll get a drink then? And the women then said ok I’ll make an exception this time, so my mom was like alright just the salad then to which the women said “you have to get the drink”. So, we left with nothing. Her job always orders from here and has never been met with this horrible service. I understand the cash limit but it’s a pandemic we aren’t utilizing cash? And to be met with that kind of service was just really uncalled for. We won’t be coming here, and her office will no longer be...
Read moreWe’ve been looking for a quality Greek restaurant in our area. There are so many disappointing options (which I won’t mention by name). We had been to Mediterranean Express a long time ago under previous ownership and weren’t impressed. Saw that they had changed hands a while ago and decided to give them a try, again. So glad that we did.
We ordered the falafel appetizer, the gyro platter, a Greek salad with gyro meat and a galaktebouroko dessert. The food quality was impressive… everything looked and tasted homemade, the portions were huge (there were lots of leftovers) and the taste was outstanding. Most of the packaging is biodegradable (much appreciated). The counter staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
If there was one suggestion it would be to pack the French Fries in the platter separately as they were soggy when I got them home. Next time I’ll ask them to do that for me.
The price for the quality and quantity of food we received was excellent. Nice to know we have a quality Greek restaurant that we can frequent in our neighborhood.
Mediterranean Express… job well done! See you...
