Bayshore Bagels & Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Let me tell you something about the man that owns this business. I used to be really strung out on drugs living behind the gas station right across the street. Most of the time I never had money for a meal but this guy would still always feed me. Sometimes it was the ONLY thing I had to eat for days. When I did have money, he wouldn't let me pay because he knew how rough of shape I was in. Fast forward a year later, I have a year clean and went in to buy the breakfast he used to make me. When I tried to pay with my card, his machine didn't accept AMEX and without a second thought he STILL just gave it to me. When you talk about community and delis on Long Island, this place is and will always be at the top of the charts. God bless this man and his family. AMAZING FOOD. AMAZING SERVICE. I've been coming here off and on for over a decade and I've never been disappointed. The bagels are always fresh and their veggie cream cheese is my personal gold standard, which I judge all other veggie cream cheeses against. The owner is friendly and kind and works very hard. I love this place and I go every chance I get with my awkward sleep schedule and after moving about 10 miles further away. Ok....cute but small place, his first mistake there is one person working on a Sunday before noon....whom I believe to be the owner.

Not the worst but for sure not the best! My total came to $8.25 for an egg everything bagel w/cream cheese, a chocolate milk & a Qz cup of veggie cream cheese. Which to me is too high for a bagel that seemed was made yesterday.
