This place really needs some work. I know they're new but they really need to step it up. Willing to go back in the future to try to see if it's better because the food is actually really good but everything else was a bit of a nightmare.
We passed this place and were really excited to give it a try so we went last week. Let me just say just if the staff here are just straight up rude for some reason. The woman at the front just refused to find my dad a straight answer on how long a table would be. We were eventually let in and we're for some reason corraled upstairs to sit and eat away from the live music and bar and other people (this place is a house I guess) staff handed us our iPad menus (which you can't order off of even though they let you add food to a wishlist) and ignored us for a bit. We finally got a waitress and I don't think she really could understand what we were saying most of the time. We ordered our drinks, appetizer and our meals and we got them after probably 20 minutes later got our drinks. I was trying to specify to the waitress that my dad wanted a margarita with no salt and I got a beer but she asked if I wanted salt and lime so I said sure. I just thought I'd get a lime in the beer but 10 minutes after I got my beer she brought out lime juice which I guess I was supposed to dump into my glass but whatever.
A bit later got our appetizer which was delicious but it took such a long time we were getting kind of annoyed. A different staff member even brought it to a different table at first and we had to flag him down.
After about 40 minutes no one was really getting their food upstairs here so it was just people quietly looking around agitated and sometimes asking the staff about their meals. I feel like it was well over an hour after ordering til people started getting their food. We eventually got ours and when we got our food the waitress finally decided to tell us they were out of beans? My dad and I both got bandeja Paisa so we got rice with no beans. She couldn't ask us earlier? We all got salads. I asked for fries but she didn't hear it understand me so I was just okay with the salad. Again the food is very good it was just insane to wait this long and felt very odd being in a different part of the restaurant.
I want to come back and hope the place is less chaotic and staffed better but I think we're going to wait a bit. I want to come here and enjoy the food because the prices are good and everything was delicious and it's super close. Hoping things get better and...
Read moreThis place was a mixed bag of the good the bad and the ugly. The good was the breaded pork cutlets. Probably the best I've had at a Colombian place. The guac bowl appetizer was fire, the rice was good and the steak in the baneja paisa was very good, cooked perfectly with good seasoning. The bad was the beans, stewed beans are supposed to have a bit of a gravy and these were watery and lacked flavor, I had to keep reaching for the salt. The chicharon (fried pork rind) was a dry and the skin chewy. The ajiaco soup was very good but again, lacked seasoning and for the price, was a bit of a small serving. The ugly. The morcilla (Colombian blood sausage) was really, really good but when I ordered a second one it was ice cold in the middle 🤢. I will say, they did offer me a free dessert for my troubles so kudos to them for that. I think I will only come back here if I am in the mood for that delicious fried pork cutlet. The music was a bit loud but had lively atmosphere. The place is really clean and has a nice modern vibe. Also I have to mention that the service was...
Read moreI went to Bahia Restaurant to try Colombian and Ecuadorian food, but I was very disappointed.
The service was okay, but everything took a very long time to come out.
The issue began with the coffee. The first cup tasted only like milk with a pinch of coffee. I politely brought this to the waitress attention, and she made a new one. The second cup still missed the mark and didn't taste like quality coffee should.
For the main course, I ordered an Ecuadorian plate and did not like it. It did not taste fresh. The ceviche was especially bad, it tasted like they used lime juice from a bottle, not real, fresh lime.
The pork had no flavor, and the guatita (a stew) was missing flavor too. I couldn't even taste the peanut butter that should have been in it.
The only thing I liked was the arepa de choclo. It was delicious. I tried to order two more to take home, but I was disappointed to know they only had one left.
Compounding the issues with the food, given the lack of freshness and flavors in the food and the extremely long wait. I will not be...
