Stepping into a Mr. Softee storefront was a truly nostalgic experience for me. Growing up, I was used to the familiar jingle of the Mr. Softee ice cream truck rolling through the neighborhood, but actually visiting a store felt like a rare treat. It was a pleasant surprise to come across this location, as you don’t often see brick-and-mortar Mr. Softee stores—it’s usually just the trucks making their rounds.
From the first bite, I was instantly transported back to childhood. The soft serve ice cream tasted exactly as I remembered it—smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. I opted for the classic chocolate and vanilla twist, a staple that never disappoints. Compared to Carvel, I found the texture softer and creamier, making it even more enjoyable.
One of the best parts was the affordable pricing. You can get a cone for around $5 with one topping, which is pretty reasonable considering today’s ice cream prices. They also offer various flavors beyond the traditional vanilla and chocolate, so there’s something for everyone.
If you're looking for a nostalgic treat or just love soft serve ice cream, I’d highly recommend checking this place out. And if you have kids, they’ll absolutely love it. There’s something special about getting your ice cream from Mr. Softee, whether from a truck or a storefront, and I’m glad I got to experience it again in a...
Read moreMister Softee is hands down my favorite ice cream truck, and I was SO excited to go to their physical store in Long Island, but the experience was not all it was made out to be. First of all, there was barely any parking or space to even eat the ice cream - so I saw everyone just eating their ice cream on top of their cars. Secondly, the store was so tiny and I felt so cramped inside the store. There were only two soft serve flavors and a bunch of other regular ice cream flavors. I got the chocolate with oreo and it was SOO expensive. On the screen it said it was $5ish, but the total came out to $6+!!! It was SOO much more expensive than normal Mister Softee ice cream trucks. Not to mention, the oreos came in GIANT chunks, so you have to finish the actual oreo pieces before you get to the ice cream. Which isn’t intuitive at all because the ice cream melts fast… so it was an awful experience. I wish the oreos were dust powder instead of chunks, or at least put the oreos on the side ??? I wish the employees had the decency to tell me that the oreos came in giant chunks…so I would know how to plan ahead of time. I do not recommend that experience because the ice cream got all over my hands due to me not being able to actually eat the ice cream due to the giant oreo chunks. Anyway, not a great experience and it was also too expensive and overpriced. Would...
Read moreOn March 9th, me and my parents went all the way to Long Island just to see the Mister Softee shop. Before we went to the shop, I checked out a Polara EZ Communicator Navigator crosswalk button (I love crosswalk buttons). The shop was awesome, I met Jimmy Ilya (the owner), he is a nice and friendly guy and has been running Mister Softee trucks since 2007. The floor was sticky but I was okay with it. The customer service is nice. I got a vanilla ice cream in a cup that I’ve never seen before, and it was delicious. The ice cream reminded me about the truck. Finally I don’t have to chase the truck anymore 😆 I honestly recommend this shop if you’re outside Long Island or is from Long Island. Big thanks to Jimmy and Emin (the people I saw in the shop)! I always wanted...
