Be aware they have a bouncer if you dont leave in 2 hours .
I wished I had seen the reviews before I went for Dinner here. This restaurant gives a vibe of fine dining and makes you feel relaxed but apparently you can only sit here for 2 hours max so if you are on a vacation and want to chill and experience hospitality here you will be outta luck.
We went there for dinner without reservation so we accepted the table indoor knowing that all outdoor tables were reserved so it was totally fine , we know how things work very well , we frequently go to the fire island and have dined at many restaurants but dint expect what followed.
we ordered so many things to try and 2 bottles of wine for 2 people , so we wanted to pace out and order the entree but guess what a guy who acted like a bouncer with the loose t-shirt approached us to tell there is a reservation on that table so he is gonna need the table soon. (Everybody looked super friendly and professional but not this guy) , he is probably the manager / owner . The approach was absolutely horrendous , it sounded me like you are on my property and I want that table soon , I dont care what your plans are but thats what I want . There were no options provided like moving to another table or bar , he simply doesnt have people's skills and dint belong to FOH. Its not like we were there for 3 hours , we ordered the 2nd bottle of wine after an hour and half of getting there and soon he approach us telling that they have the 2 Hrs condition posted outside, probably he has some terms and condition listed somewhere else I am not aware about. I understand they need to accommodate as many as people possible but I would expect them they show the right approach and hospitality. That guy totally brought his entire team down , ruined our experience, I am still trying to figure out the reason for the nasty approach, we were nothing but very respectful to everybody but he certainly took us for granted , I dont want to get to the " R" word but I certainly felt like second class citizen. He was ready to give us seats at the bar after my GF suggested that but it was too late as this guy who claims to have 20 Yrs experience couldn't come with it or simply dint care , I dont know what kind of experience he has but certainly not hospitality experience . He probably has experience as a bouncer or frying chicken in...
Read moreThe food was absolutely disgusting and the Service matched that. As soon as we got there we asked to sit outside something with shade. We got there around 5 PM. We found a table that was shaded the waitress said we could not sit there because there was a 6:30 reservation for that table. We have to sit at a different table. She said there’s also a reservation for that one. The entire section was completely empty. There’s about 10 tables and maybe one family sitting out there. We finally found a table that she would allow us to sit at. As soon as we sat down, we all ordered and when we went to order dinner, she let us know that the crabcakes were sold out. One of the specials was this crab meat mac & cheese with a Parmesan crust that was supposed to be baked. Me and one of the other people in our party ordered that. The whole time it seemed like the waitresses could not be bothered. We asked for more water and one woman literally stared at us rolled her eyes and walked away. When all of our food came out, the mac & cheese looked horrendous. I’m attaching a photo below of it. It looked like buttered mac & cheese with crab meat just tossed in it no topping. When we asked the waitress if this was the one with the Parmesan cracker crust she said yes but they ran out of some items for the Mac and cheese and crust. For $25 I wish she would have told us that instead of getting the disgusting meal we got. Thank God we ordered a side of fries I just had that. By 6 o’clock she asked if we were ordering more when we said no she gave us the check we just got our food 20 mins before that we were still eating! By 615 she came over and told us that we had to leave because the reservation for 630 wanted our table also so we were being told to go. For spending over $300 on food and drinks telling people while they’re still eating that they have to leave is crazy. And on top of that, there was still at least eight open tables around us. I would never go back to this place and I would recommend nobody go to this place. Food was disgusting. Service was horrible and they rush you out for the price we paid. We should’ve been able to...
Read moreOne of the best places to eat in the area. Never disappointed. Edit: I used to love this place. Today I was not impressed. We made our reservation for 1pm for a special birthday get together and got there a little early. We were sat without a problem aside from the fact that the outside area does not have sufficient shade from the harsh summer sun. We were a large party with four children and having shade was very important and we're led to believe that the inside wouldn't accomidate
I was told by our waitress that she would find a stand in umbrella. We waited. Swapped seats with each other to take turns keeping in the shade and shielding the kids. Everyone wore sunscreen. I had an spf 70+ on and still managed to get badly burned.
Had our waitress came to us sooner and said she could not provide more shade, we could have made different choices that didn't lead to second degree sunburns.
As far as the food and service... There was a dead bug on my plate. When I asked for a new one I was ignored. My seltzer was forgotten. My glass was very dirty. The water was not refilled in a timely fashion. The shrimp were not cleaned well enough. The oysters had shell in them. The lobster on the waterfall plater was mushy, discolored and not fresh. The menu was a little underwhelming for brunch and though they did have some good choices, there were no options for those with gluten issues.
The selection for non alcoholic drinks was basically non existent. The orange juice was very thick and artificial. The lemonade had a very chemical taste to it. Almost like cheap sour mix and bad tap water. The cranberry juice tasted like cheap gun syrup. Honestly it tasted like the draft lines were dirty. And there was no selection of other juice, like apple.
Our waitress, though friendly, was lacking.. A lot. The hostess and another person helped her from time to time but it did not really make up for what was happening.
My guests were not happy. It was a first to be there for many of them and sadly, I don't think they will...
