Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I've been trying to keep to strict social distancing due to my son's grandparents that he has interaction with due to his father being an "essential" worker. I am healthy and at minimal risk but my worry for others has kept me home for most of this. But, my poor son had a serious case of cabin fever and has been begging for Jersey Mike's so we ventured out. Thankfully your online ordering is painless and I was able to pay online which limited the contact ✔. When I got there, I left my teenage son in the car to limit his contact and I didn't think I'd need help running in and out, as the order was already ready. 👍I was greeted by the same friendly faces in this particular building (I'll drive extra to go to this shop because friendliness and courtesy are a very big deal to me). 😃 I had ordered drinks and on instinct I reached in the bag to grab them..with the gloves I had worn to go inside. I stood there for a half second in slight panic when I heard the gentleman behind the counter. He offered to replace the cups because he had seen my reaction. He insisted even though I tried to deny the offer because it was my own silly fault. I got my son's favorite root beer (one of the other reasons my son loves Jersey Mike's lol) and practically sped all the way home. While this all seems trivial on a normal day...the kindness and awareness that gentleman showed helped me through my anxiety through the situation. Normal is no longer "normal" and his job is stressful I'm sure...But he still paid attention to his guests, he quickly addressed an issue before I could even register it was one fully, and he made my day. I couldn't give him a hug, and nobody wants to see a random lady crying in the middle of a sandwich shop...but I wanted to make sure the store got the recognition it deserved.

Thank you for making my stress a little less stressful and for being a place I can trust in the midst of...

Before jersey Mike’s opens I used to go to Beyond Philly and get my Philly cheesesteak fix on! However, once I’ve tried their Philly cheesesteak I haven’t been going back to Beyond Philly.

Update 2/2/23 I don’t know what’s going on at Jersey Mike’s, I always order xtra cheese and xtra meat. Sandwiches don’t have as much meat as they used to. And they rarely have the rosemary Parmesan bread. They keep giving us white bread. When I call they say that they give white if there’s no rosemary. Then they say that they’re making rosemary now. I ask why there isn’t xtra meat on my sandwich and they say that the new people forget to put it on. But the new people never forget to charge for it. We usually go there once a week. I think we’re done with this location till they fix the problems.

I’m not sure if some of the negative reviews made a difference, but, after not coming here for months because of the decline in their products, I returned. I am happy to say that whatever issues they were having a few months ago have been fixed and we have ordered two times from there in the last week and a half, and both times the food was excellent...

Had an order delivered tonight via Grubhub, this is not the first time...all previous experiences were excellent. This time, 3 sandwiches approx 87 dollars. Upon arrival, one of the 3 was missing. The bag was sealed shut with 3 closures. I called the store to offer to pick up the sandwich, but was put on hold immediately and given to who identified themselves as the manager. She promptly told me, with indignation, she prepared my order and bagged it personally so there was no way it left the store without all 3 items. I tried to tell her that it was impossible for it to have been removed, as there were 3 closures on the bag. She would hear nothing, she just informed me as if I were a child to contact Grubhub. When I continued to try to resolve the situation (before I got angry with my treatment) she just put the phone down and walked away...leaving it off the hook. What has happened to treating your customers with respect, I was not accusatory, just trying to rectify an error...everyone makes mistakes. BTW..the food was very...
