I am rating two star because I think the food was good but the service was absolutely horrific. My boyfriend and I had a lunch date with another couple. We dined in on a Monday afternoon and there was barely anyone in there. A total of 5 tables seated, in which that number includes us. When my boyfriend and his friend arrived, the server who eventually came to the table did not introduce himself and did not seem very pleasant. The table was not adjusted properly so the server went to do that but only adjusted the side of the table where our lunch guest were seated and tried to leave our side down. My boyfriend had to ask him to please adjust our side as well because WHY would he even try to leave it like that!? When the appetizers were brought out, they were more or less plopped on the table and still, we did not know the server’s name. At some point, someone who appeared to be the chef, came out of the back and started saying hello to all of the other patrons that were seated. He held conversations with them and asked them how everything turned out and was very pleasant [to them]. But when it came to our table, all we got was a stiff hand raise and a head nod. Definitely not the same energy that the other 4 tables received. The unfortunate highlight to this review is that we were the only black and brown people seated in the restaurant. So all other 4 tables got what appeared to be quality customer service and we were definitely deprived of that. It’s unfortunate that it had to happen that way because it’s obvious there was discrimination taking place there. Had the restaurant been super crowded and the wait staff and bussers were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, I could understand the miss in introducing themselves and providing their names. I could understand the chef having to speed through and keeping it short. But considering that wasn’t the case and it was only 5 tables seated, this is definitely one that I will not be returning to.
In terms of the food, I ordered the lobster ravioli, which literally only had 5 raviolis on the plate and 3 shrimps. It was $26! There was more sauce than food on the plate. The portion was a disappointment but overall it tasted good so I will give them that. My boyfriend got their pork chop and potatoes which was great! For appetizers we had the stuffed mushrooms (good), the fried calamari (good), the octopus (okay), and baked...

Read moreOnce we found the place, which even with GPS didn't help much, we were pleasantly surprised that in this industrial park area, there could be an eatery with white tablecloths, crystal and wait staff in tuxedo attire. But, it is true, and we were so glad we circled back around and located this little gem.
Our waiter, Antonio, was very patient with all of our questions and having him repeat the long list of specials. We chose the orecchiette (little ears in Italian), a freshly-made pasta that was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, served with sausage and broccoli rabe, with roasted garlic and cannellini beans. The single was a generous portion and we also had a largish bowl of parmigiana reggiano sro we could replenish our entrees. We also ordered a tri-color salad with fresh arugula, crunchy endive and radicchio, dressed with wonderful balsamic reduction and olive oil. We didn't leave a leaf.
We (they) were on a roll, so when Rocco, freely picking up when our server Antonio was occupied, as did Arturo, the other waiter, recited the dessert menu, we were only momentarily disappointed that gelato wasn't on the list, and opted for Cassata cake. So glad we did. The light white cake with marsala, heavy cream filling with marsala and mini mint chocolate chips was to die for. I vowed only to eat a third if we shared. I lied. I was actually accused, by hubby of course, of taking more than my share of the cream filling. Maybe it was the marsala that made him so possessive.

This is Italian cuisine at its best--even on a Monday, when we assume the regular chef isn't in the kitchen.
Worth driving out of your way for this...
