Victorio's Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I stopped at this location to quickly grab a few slices of pizza. There was a young lady at the counter with her back turned upon entering as well as a older male working on making pizzas. Not once was I or the other patrons that entered greeted. Myself and the others stood in line waiting for over 2 minutes before the young lady asked what I needed as I was first in line.

The young lady finished handing money over to another patron that was waiting proceeded to WIPE HER HANDS WITH FACE AND NOSE. I told her what I wanted and waited to see if she would wash her hands or at the very least grab gloves. Nope...she proceeded to touch the pizza slices on the counter and then try to slid them to a metal pan that was on the side with her BARE hands...no tongs. I stopped her immediately and told her I did not want to purchase any of the slices she touched with her hands. She proceeded to state that she didn't touch her nose and face when clearly she did.

As a healthcare professional, this is completely unsanitary. In addition, the pizza quality was not good. Overall, if you care about not getting sick, I would...

Randomly stopped her few years back and discovered a real gem ....Specialty slices are really delicious. You can taste they use fresh ingreadiants and i honestly go out of my way to stop by when I am close to the area as its really worth it !!! Always a friendly face and pleasant experience with the people that wrok there and a overall great place to grab a bite to eat

Try the Buffalo Chicken slice...they shread and spread the chicken on the dough and put it a layer of great tasting cheese on top

Most places throw a few chunks of chicken on top and you don't get the flavorful taste in every bite like the process they use here allows for here

And the garlic knots...well let's say there's enough garlic on them to keep any vampires away for the rest of the day

I really enjoy the pizza from this place but I thought I’d share why I wont order food while the owner is making pies.. I think that’s the owner (white man salt n pepper hair) anyway I ordered my food and he was on his phone by the oven and started to cough… never covering his mouth just coughed out .. when he finish with his phone he went right back to making pizzas..never washed his hands… I know the oven kills germs but why not wash your hands ??? I also got a look at how he was dressed .. he looked unclean and his sneakers were filthy… Why don’t people in food service understand that they need to look clean and be clean while handling food.. his personal appearance is horrible and I’ll never feel comfortable eating food...
