Ok, this is honestly a review that I don't want to post. I want this place to be amazing and successful, and I feel like it could be. Have been there three times now and hopefully can give an honest opinion. I'll go in the order of the Google ratings. The food is good, not spectacular, not bad. Have had the burrata appetizer all three times now and it's very good. Last week we had the "filet" empanadas which I wouldn't have fed to my dog. Tonight ordered the truffle burger, it was swimming in the gorgonzola / truffle sauce, had to eat with a knife and fork to avoid wearing it. Flavor was there, but execution was disappointing, was falling apart when it came out. Wifey ordered the pesto pasta entree, it was the burrata appetizer with pasta. Shame on us for not realizing it but also, it was literally the same dish just with pasta. Our first visit we had the carbonara made table side and it was super salty, but enjoyable and impressive. Last week had the chicken parm, meh. House wines are a hot mess, had the Pinot noir and the Sav Blanc -pass. Just ordered a bottle of your choosing., Some nice craft beers on tap if that's your thing. Next, service.... Cannot say enough good things about the table service. Our first two visits were absolutely phenomenal service. They have a ton of staff on each night and it shows. I was surprised by how many different people helped / served us. Have since found out they pool / share tips so it makes sense, everyone has their opinion on which is better there. Tonight however we sat at the bar and things were very different. The bartender was nice, and very busy. I think she was the only one on for the night, for the whole place. That being said we had to get our own setups and app plates from the wait station, and it took almost an hour for our apps to come out. We did get some bread which was soft and warm. Wifey ordered the lobster bisque, sent it back. We've been all over New England and eaten a lot of bisque, I would call this a lobster soup, not bisque. No cream, no rue, felt like it was thickened with corn starch and water. FYI they do have some nice high end liquors at the bar, pappy was $67 per pour. The ambiance is good, not great and not bad. Many other posts talk about how I'm from the Bronx or I'm from Staten island and I know good Italian, if you think this place is amazing, you need to go to better restaurants. I really do think all the ingredients for a great restaurant are here, they just don't come together perfectly, yet.. We're going to give them a break for a bit and see...
Read moreI recently had an incredible dining experience at Pasta D'oro and I cannot wait to share my thoughts. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome, even though we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked. The ambiance was perfect, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
To start off our meal, we ordered a variety of appetizers including the hand-made meatballs, pissilpo, and a special caprese salad that was made just for me. The flavors were outstanding, and the caprese salad was simply to die for. The attention to detail and the quality of each dish was apparent from the very first bite.
For the main course, I decided to try one of their steaks cooked Pittsburgh-style. It was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Cooked to perfection, it was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. I also had the opportunity to taste the Ala vodka, which was delightfully creamy and tasted authentically Italian.
Our server was attentive throughout the entire meal, making sure our glasses were never less than half empty. Their dedication to providing excellent service was evident and greatly appreciated.
We also had the pleasure of trying some of their signature drinks, although I can't quite remember the names. Nevertheless, they were absolutely on point. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was exceptional.
What truly impressed me was when the cook came out at the end of our meal to ask if we had enjoyed everything. We raved about our experience and mentioned that the owner should hear our feedback. To our surprise, the cook revealed that he was one of the owners. It was remarkable to see that, despite the restaurant being busy, the owner took the time to personally engage with customers and ensure their satisfaction.
Overall, I am beyond grateful for the incredible dining experience at Pasta D'oro. The combination of delectable food, attentive service, and a welcoming ambiance made it a memorable evening. I cannot express my gratitude enough and I look forward to returning soon. Thank you, thank you,...
Read moreWe had previously eaten here several times before and it was not a pleasant experience, but it had been a while so we decided to give it another try. We are seated, asked if we wanted tap water or bottled water, I asked for poland spring or any bottled water, they didn't have it so I ordered a bottle of water for table. Bottle of water came out opened, half empty, charged $8.00 for a bottle of water that came out with two dried up & rotten brown pieces of lime. No ice was offered. Partner ordered a tap beer that never came out, when it finally did (we had to ask) it had a two inch head. Next issue was that the bread was not replenished one time and the waiter was nowhere to be found. We like dipping sauce, but we also like pats of butter that we didn't get because we couldn't find waiter and didn't feel like getting up to ask again. Next, after a half hour wait our muscle appetizer $16.50, comes out, it did have good flavor but again we had to ask and wait for plates which when brought out were about 4" round (bread plates) and they were all chipped. Next, half hour later our Ceasar salads come out (a la carte, not included in the price of entrée) it was not good, very small portion, and it was $11.00, we were offered NO anchovy, NO fresh ground pepper. Next, half hour later our meal comes out, felt like it was thrown on our table, ice cold plates, potatoes were ice cold and the side of Broccoli was raw (not steamed). The chicken francese had good flavor but the portion was very small (2 little pieces of chicken) for a $23.00 plate, plus the a la carte salad $11.00. We were not offered any parm cheese, so again we had to wait, find the waiter and ask. We were not offered another drink. So honestly I don't think we will be returning to this high priced, horrible...
