Asia — Restaurant in Town of Marbletown

I don’t know who is writing these reviews… but this is the last time I’m eating here. I really want to like this place, because it’s so conveniently located, but every time the food is mediocre or old and always overpriced. The Chinese is consistently only okay at best. The yellowtail sushi was rubbery, gray, and fishy. I am not a picky eater, but I had to spit it out in the garbage as I tried multiple pieces. The spicy salmon roll was mostly cucumber. If I had wanted a cucumber roll then I would have ordered one, but I didn’t because they are not filling. The crispy noodles were stale and the soup tasted old. There’s nothing like coming home after a long day with no food in the fridge, having paid a mint in take out, and only being able to eat two bites of it. It sucks, but you really have to go Kingston or New Paltz for halfway decent Chinese...

Upscale chinese and sushi dine in and takeout. I came for the General Tso lunch special dine in. Hot and sour soup was bland, but warming. Chicken dish came with vegetarian fried rice. There were 8 balls of chicken on the plate, accompanied by some spicy, sweet sauce, and a couple of shards of broccoli. The chicken was well cooked, and seemed to be made of chicken breast, not chicken thighs I am accustomed to. All told, the meal was 16 including tax and tip. The Asia website states that the cost of the meal is 11, but the menu at the restaurant showed 13. I would rate the meal a 6/10 compared to other takeout meals nearby. I was really disappointed with this meal overall. The spicy tuna roll had barely any actual tuna in it mostly just rice and cucumber. For something labeled spicy tuna, it felt like they totally skimped out on the main ingredient. And to make things worse, the sweet and sour chicken was packed with filler too. Unnecessary vegetables at the bottom that weren’t even cooked. For the price, I expected way better quality and balance. Definitely won’t be ordering this again.
