So originally I would have left all flying colors on this restaurant but, I will explain my recent experience. I’ve maybe came to this place about 7-10 times within the last month of this new year. Each day my experience went from being good to horrible. I will say that MOST of the staff are extremely friendly.
Here we go,
My last few times here I decided to join the reward system there the first time I did so the gentleman behind the counter said he didn’t understand how it worked. The next time I came the lady who works there explained to me how it worked. My sister who eats here all the time and has her own rewards always buys a lot of bagels here. One day instead of buying a regular bacon egg and cheese I decided to treat my household like my sister does on a regular basis. I winded up buying a dozen bagels and wanted to try a couple of different cream cheese’s I seen. When I asked the gentleman there if I could put my number in for my Rewards he kept insisting that “technology is new and look you received your two points” these points were never added to my rewards because my number was never put in. instead of making a stink I’m leaving a review. I went from loving this place to not liking this place anymore due to my own intelligence being insulted. Not appreciated food is good but, idk if this specific individual did not like me or something but due to my experience I won’t be back. Keep in mind all Places I do go to I’m generous and I always leave a...
Read moreFirst off, I can say it's the only bagel place in Montgomery. Heres a few reasons why I was put off.
They never list their prices. It's not even a matter of taking a sign down for the price, and forgetting to put that sign back up. It's been like that for years. I don't understand how they can get away with this because New York State law makes it mandatory to list the prices.
The food is alright. But while I'm being honest, there's other locations that are better than this joint. He tried to take credit for the rainbow bagel that was well known for in Brooklyn, and went viral. When I inquired about it, the owner said he's the only place around that makes rainbow bagels.
God bless the people who work behind the counter because the owner is good for literally sitting on his ass. There was one person behind the counter, and she was taking four people's orders. The owner walks on by her, doesn't even offer to help, and sits on the plastic crate. That just put a bad taste in my mouth. He knew his business was busy, but wouldn't even offer to help his employees. I've seen this on multiple occasions, and this is mostly why I won't go back to his store. (Aside from the mystery jeopardy pricing.)
While on that note, the owner is extremely awkward. He won't say hello, or even say excuse me. He watches everything the employees do, won't offer to help, and doesn't say much. Asking him something is like pulling teeth. I've never even worked for him, and this is...
Read moreThe customer service and efficiency was fabulous. I got the egg and pastrami everything bagel. I thought the everything bagel had a bit too much salt for my liking and the pastrami just tasted off to me. I don't mean to say it tasted like it went bad, I just mean it did not taste like a delicious pastrami should. So obviously, I didn't care for it - I actually took it off. I love pastrami, so that's sad.
My husband had the jalapeno bagel with pastrami and eggs. He said he could not taste the jalapeno on the bagel. However, my husband thought his pastrami was okay, so there's that.
A small thing, but the changing menu boards were a bit annoying. You could not see the entire menu at once so the screens would change but they would change too quickly. You could barely read one section of it and it was changing. Also, there was a QR code that you could use in order to view the menu on your phone, but it had the same issue. The screen kept changing away from the QR code so you would have to wait for that to come back around so you could scan it. Maybe put that QR code on paper on the wall or something and maybe have the menu printed out somewhere behind where people wait so if there are other options to...
