We brought our Special Needs class in for an extra special lunch on July 19th, 2022. Managers, Jenna and Chris, set our students up with a make-your-own pizza party! When we arrived, everything was set up perfect with ample space and extra toppings. Kaitlin was a phenomenal server and worked well with all our special needs. Thank you for a fabulous lunch :) Here are some reviews written by our students...

-I liked the trip to Wood and Fire. We got to make our own pizza. The pizza was delicious. We also got to put on different toppings. I put on peperoni and meatballs. It was my first time trying it. I loved it. Our waitress's name was Kaitlin, she was very nice and helpful. I am excited to go back. I can’t wait to try new food ! -CW (13 year old girl)

-I liked Wood and Fire because the pizzas were fabulous. There were so many toppings. I ordered artichoke and pepperoni and black olives, and they gave me sprite. It was the first time I made my own pizza. The servers Kaitlin and Jack were very kind. Thank you Jenna and Chris for setting up our pizza party. -TC (13 year old boy)

-I liked the experience at the Wood and Fire because my class had fun, and the pizza was extra cheesy. The waitress’ name is Kaitlin and Jack helped us too. I never made pizza before, and I put on toppings, I put on onions and mushrooms. Jenna and Chris set up the party. The conclusion is thank you Jenna and Chris for the party set up. -AR (13 year old boy)

-My experience at wood and fire: the waitress Kaitlin was fabulous because she gave us toppings to put on the pizza. We got to watch them put it in the oven and we got to eat pizza. The pizza taste was unbelievable. -LC (12 year old girl)

-My experience at Wood and Fire was so much fun. One reason I liked Wood and Fire is because Kaitlin our waitress was so nice. Another reason I liked Wood and Fire is because my pizza was delicious. I put meatballs on my pizza, and I got sprite to wash it down. Final reason I love Wood and Fire is because I like the oven design, I felt like I was in Italy. This is why I love Wood and Fire and I look forward to going back again. -JS (13...

I’ve been ordering from Wood and Fire for years, but unfortunately, my last three experiences have been very disappointing.

The first time, my food never arrived, I let it go. The second time, the food arrived very cold, and even the pizza tasted old—I let it go again. This time, my food never arrived at all again!

I called the restaurant, and the young woman who answered the phone was very kind and tried to help. She spoke to her manager, but unfortunately, he didn’t make any effort to resolve the situation. Instead, I was just given excuses that Uber is a third-party service and they can’t do anything about it. But as a manager, he clearly could have done something, such as resending the food or offering another solution, especially considering I have been a customer for a while.

I also run my own business, so I know firsthand that sometimes things go wrong with third parties. But as a business owner, you must still take responsibility and make things right for your customers. That’s what good service means.

What was most disappointing is that the manager didn’t even bother to speak with me directly. He just had the young woman relay a message that next time I should order directly from the restaurant, and they would “give me something on the house.” I don’t care about getting something for free, I just want good service.

Sadly, after three negative experiences in a row, I can no longer say this restaurant provides the quality or service it once did. Passing the blame to Uber is not acceptable. When you choose to work with a third party, you also take on the responsibility to make sure your customers are...

Huge place with plenty of seating, even when it looks busy you could get a table pretty quick. Vibe is pretty good both on the patio and inside, a bit loud but that can be fun. Great servers, bussers, and hosts; beer/wine selection is solid and cocktails are probably pretty good if they’re similar to Southern Table.

Food seems to be hit or miss; weirdly the more “chefy” complex dishes were really nice and well done. Fancy wings were nicely charred yet tender, and super sticky with sauce; absolutely loved the octopus dish, octopus was tender and well seasoned, accoutrement were really nice too. Could definitely be a whole meal by itself.

Kale salad was just ok (overdressed) but the whole anchovies were really high quality and lovely. Sadly pizza was lacking! We got the Sicilian style with pepperoni. Crust was awesome, pepperoni awesome; but cheese was really terrible :/. Not sure if it just wasn’t melted well enough or they ran out of the good stuff, but I honestly think it was a fluke! I am a cheesemonger so I might be biased or spoiled when it comes to cheese, haha. Will definitely come back for a more modern Italian meal, but will probably hesitate to order that specific pizza. **EDIT: the owner let me know they are changing how the Sicilian gets made, so that’s probably what’s to blame for the weird cheese! Love a food business that can take guest experiences and use them to make the food better. Will definitely be...

A review from last winter: I have to give this place 2 stars, not because the food was bad, but because the experience was bad. My friend and I were sat directly in front of the open tent door outside on a night it was 29 degrees with no heater anywhere near our table. The table should not have even been placed there. It was clear they were just trying to pack in as many people as possible. It didn't seem like any capacity restrictions were taken. The bar was filled, tables not 6 feet apart and it was crowded. The first thing our waitress said was apologizing for was the table placement, it being cold and the wind coming from the door so it was clearly acknowledged. I would recommend making a reservation and specifying to sit inside. The food was good, I liked the Picente pizza better than the Bianca & Tartufo (that one I could of went without). Pizza was thin crust and filling enough for 2 people to share these.

Stopped by wood and fire this afternoon for an early lunch. We’ve been several times and I always get the brook street pizza with no mozzarella cheese (I can’t eat it) so I’m always excited for a thick crust pizza with lots of sauce, no moz, and pepperoni. It’s so good! (I’m sure it is with the cheese too!). My bf usually switches it up and got the picante this time and said it was really good. We got a side of truffle fries and they were delicious. This time I also ordered the wood and fire brownie and it did not disappoint. It’s easily enough for 2 people and it was so good with the brûlée bananas and gelato. I would definitely get it again. The staff is nice and the inside is really cozy. They have an inclosed ‘outdoor’ area that I’m guessing is more open when it’s warmer. They have a small parking lot in the front with some extra spots in the back. Looking forward to my next trip back!

Atmosphere was good. Not too loud not too quiet. Server was friendly and we got our food quick. Ordered the calamari and truffle fries to start. My 5 y/o brother loved the fries and he hates anything on his french fries (even parsley). Basically they were top notch. The calamari was also perfectly fried. Enough breading to make them super crunch but also very tender on the inside. The sauce on the side was also a great compliment. My mom and I had the Linguini Nero which came packed with seafood that I almost thought they had the wrong dish. The sauce was spicy but just enough. I love spice but this dish was rounded enough that someone who didn't like spice would enjoy this. My brother had the mussels. I didn't try the dish as a whole but the broth was amazing. Creamy, savory and just all around had a great umami to it. Will be back to try more.
