Hmm…3,400 reviews for a local diner? Nope. Not when only about 3% of happy customers post reviews. They want us to believe that they have had over 1.5 million new customers??? Impossible. A little local diner?? No. And all the 5 Stars is a red flag. There are services that businesses use to purchase high volume high rating reviews. In case you didn’t know that.
Our experience at Alexis diner:
Hungry and road tired we saw the little local diner brightly lit and open looking from the Highway. We pulled in and entered the hostess area at exactly 11:32pm. A couple of minutes later this stout angry hostess appeared and just snapped at us that “kitchen’s closed its after 11:30 you’re too late”.
She farted those words out of her mouth that was stuck to a face that appeared to have not smiled in over 13 years.
We were appalled. No CLOSED led sign outside to let people know not to go there (their Google page states “round the clock service btw). Just a snappy little stout hostess to dismiss you as uncaringly as a disgruntled DMV worker that snaps at you “wrong line…next!” After you’ve waited over an hour.
We obviously asked to speak with a manager. The angry little hostess disappeared into the kitchen. Two minutes later a sweaty, disheveled, unkempt man approached us (the manager) and he was even less accommodating. We could not believe the lack of concern, the unwillingness to even apologize for the misunderstanding, and lack of any offer to us for something simple and quick (this was only 4 minutes since they said the kitchen was starting to close).
Any decent retailer knows that one customer is worth THOUSANDS $ per year. So they lost THOUSANDS of dollars with us (trying to save $20) and who knows how many more ex-customers.
Covid had caused irreparable financial damage to most restaurants and we typically find food service companies going out of their way to accommodate and satiety a customer.
Not Alexis diner.
Maybe that’s why they have to close early when most diners are open 24/7 bc they have the satisfied customer base to keep the system rocking and making money.

Read moreWhere to begin? It wasn't a long wait, which was nice. The atmosphere was just as a diner usually is, homely, but busy. However, the food was far from impressive. Especially at their current price. They had far to many items on the menu, so right from the get go I had a feeling the food wasn't going to be quality. I ordered chicken quesadillas. The presentation did not have me drooling. Neither did the flavor. I received some small cuppies of guac, some chopped onion/tomato, something that resembled tomato sauce and some sour cream. The side was a small bowl of refried beans and some rice. It was lacking any form of spices.
Then dessert time came around. None of the displayed items looked very appetizing. I ended up ordering a German chocolate cake. I can tell you right now that the cake I received was not actual German chocolate cake. it looked like some box chocolate cake drenched in some sort of Walnut caramel icing. I did not like the taste of it at all, so I sent it back. I replaced it with a slice of Oreo cheesecake, however I was not expecting much. As per my expectations, the cheesecake tasted bland and a little like plastic.
When I complained about the German chocolate cake, a man came over to ask what was wrong with it. I explained that I thought it tasted gross and there was too much of the caramel stuff on it as well as the fact that it wasn't actually German chocolate cake. He was quick to defend saying that they've had the same Baker for 10 years.
I completely understand that different bakers/cooks have different styles, but none of this met my expectations.
Edit: I gave them another try and it was just as bad. I can't believe I wasted my money here again. No quality, just thrown together and lack luster. I can't believe they're still...
Read more10-9-24. Fourth visit again another feed stop for a NH to Florida trip. Decided to have the beef gyro with fries and a Greek salad. All was delicious 🤤 can’t wait for next trip.
10-29-23. Second visit, one year later. Perfectly situated off of route 84. We timed it perfectly for lunch but omg the line was out the door, the wait for two was about 15 minutes. I had the Greek three dish special, which consisted of (im going to kill these names, Mosaka, a spinach pie, and something that started with letter P). It was all good but the letter P was my favorite and would order that as a solo next time. Came with a side which I chose a Greek salad which came with five or six small anchovies, Greek olives, amazing fresh feta, stuffed grape leaves and a very different for me Greek dressing. I ate it all! We added some of their on site baked pastries for a hotel munchie later this evening. Great family place or if you just like to stuff yourself. We’ll be back. Please give a thumbs up 👍🏻 if this review is helpful
10-24-2022. What a great diner! We found this by accident as we needed a pit stop for the car. First there’s plenty of parking and it’s ada friendly. The entrance is amazing as there’s a large display of fresh pastries and amazing cakes. We ordered off the lunch special menu which had at least 10 specials and it comes with a choice of soup and to finish either tapioca, bread pudding or rice pudding. Great prices and friendly service. We are happy for this visit and...
