Fun Mexican spot just outside of downtown Saranac Lake. Easy to find with a big parking lot. They recently had some damage to the outside of the building but rest assured they are most definitely open. Cozy space with plenty of seating and even a bar! Take a look around and admire the local art and fun Mexican themed decorations (loved the classic Matador poster!). Friendly staff and a great drink menu, the margarita was 10/10. Food menu has all of the staples and everything we had was delicious (chipotle shrimp are spicy but delicious). Chips come with some great red and green salsa too. Will definitely be back

The place was pretty busy but they got us in and we sat at the bar. Actually really enjoyed that. The bartender was great and super friendly. Had some delicious margaritas! They serve two kinds of chips with two kinds of salsa. One of the chips was flour based and I did not like it as much. It fell apart rather easily. Next time I may just ask for the corn tortilla chips. The food was wonderful. We had enchiladas, a burrito, and Aztec tortas. Would definitely go back.

Always great selection of tequila, mezcal and margaritas! My favorite is the Cadillac with Cas Amigos. Favorite foods are the cheese crisp with either jalapeño or refried beans, Aztec Torta, Enchiladas and for me, the Mussels Diablo are to die for! Always a favorite restaurant spot for our family. We had a wonderful family dinner on a rainy Monday night and had absolutely exceptional service!

I was really excited to try this place, especially when I drove past it for 2 days and saw that it was packed. while staying in Lake Placid with a group of 10, we decided that we were too tired to dine in so we decided to take out. We were a group of 10 and had ordered 11 items. The wait time wasn't too bad. When we got inside to pick up our food we noticed that they were quite busy so we did have to wait a bit. but that's okay.

The price point for the items was good for dine-in but there wasn't a good value for money when we did take out. Our bill was around $180 and it definitely was not worth it.

I wouldn't recommend getting take out from here, especially if you live 10 to 15 minutes away. The food was pretty cold when we got it and it did not taste that great. While we didn't expect it to be authentic Mexican, we noticed that a lot of the items had melted cheese on them and that really did not travel well, especially when we were eating out of takeout containers. We couldn't really heat them up So we were kind of just eating cold, melted cheese. A lot of our items were also pretty soggy and sauces and substitutions were definitely forgotten. We had ordered a Tres Amigos platter and requested that the meat be altered to be all chicken in the three enchiladas. When we open them up and tasted them they did not listen and they served it to us as it is originally given which is the beef, beans and chicken. Unfortunately for us it was too late and the people and the person who ordered it did not eat beef so they didn't have the best experience. Another person ordered a chicken burrito and asked for only onions and lettuce as well as burrito sauce to be inside the burrito and the restaurant completely forgot. they did not add any toppings or sauces at all. It was simply just chicken.

I was hoping that some items would actually taste good, like a salsa or pico de gallo, but they honestly looked really sad and unappetizing.

Overall, I didn't have high expectations for a Mexican restaurant in a small town, but I was hoping that the food would at least taste decent. I definitely will not be coming back here nor would I recommend getting take out from here. If you have a craving for Mexican food, this might be worth trying, but only...

I'll start by saying that every time I've been here the service and atmosphere is great. The food comes out quickly and everyone is friendly and attentive.

Now for the bad. I have tried to like this place for a while. Coming here from Colorado where there is a ton of great Mexican food I always leave disappointed. It comes down to whoever wrote the menu. Cinnamon in chille rellenos is a crime. The salsa is flavorless. Yes they give you two types which is nice but neither is spicy and they are very basic. No seasoning, no garlic, just tastes like a can of tomatoes, no care put into them. Not a single item on the menu has any heat, which is fine for people who can't tolerate it but there should be options for people who want it. Every item is the most basic rendition of a Mexican dish but without any of the flavor. There are no complimentary sides of rice and beans. I have had the torta, enchiladas, chimichanga, and chille rellenos; the most basic Mexican dishes, and have not had a single good dish.

Whoever makes the menu should take a trip west and go to a real Mexican restaurant to learn...

Visiting the area we (4 of us) decided to have dinner at Casa del Sol. While looking over the menu, a small bowl of chips and two types of salsa (red and green) were brought out. While looking at the menu it started first bowl of chips and salsa was free and after that chips were $2 a bowl and salsa $2 a bowl. Okay - I appreciate the heads up, although I felt that was a bit stingy considering the size of the bowl you got. Anyway, we ordered our meals - fried chimichangs (delicious and plentiful), 3 hard shell tacos (while tasty - they did not come with any toppings like sour cream, gauc), enchiladas (delicious but a bit small portion), and a burrito (delicious and plentiful). We also ordered another bowl of chips for while we were waiting for our dinners. Our waitress brought our dinners and said "Oh man! I forgot your chips" and then hurried away to get them. At this point, we really didn't need them anymore as we had our meals. Okay, we took them any way - no big deal. Overall the food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and the prices...
