This is family style southern Italian/American food and most of the dishes here are consistently solid. Prices are reasonably inexpensive but have been slowly increasing. Most entrees are served complete with a salad or pasta and in some cases a vegetable with prices ranging from a dinner of Chicken Parmigiana for $14.95 (pasta or salad included) to whole Branzino (or filet) for $26.95 (salad or pasta and a vegetable of your choice). Their Branzino is one of the most delicious renditions of the fish you will ever eat, cooked with a little light garlic in white wine, lemon, and capers. All their chicken dishes feature tender succulent chicken. The chicken scarpiello with sausage (it can be done with or without sausage and is served on the bone) is especially good as is the chicken contadina (sausage, potatoes, peppers). Chicken bruschetta is another huge winner here. You can also get pizzas, heros, soups, side dishes. One disappointment was that the chicken soup was loaded with potatoes and pasta. But the pastas can also be excellent. One pasta in particular that has been excellent is the lingine in white clam sauce which we specify to be done al dente. If you order a salad as a entree (which can be done) be for warned that they are extremely large and can easily be shared. Their Caesar salad is a real one as they use raw egg in the dressing and believe me it tastes better that way. As of today, May 16, 2016 they are offering a brand new seasonal summer additional special of soft shell crabs either francese style or fra diavolo. I had the francese version twice, the first time the crabs were delicious, tender, and succulent, but the second time, the shells were too hard and the crabs were not very tasty. Even at the reasonable price of $19.95, I cannot recommend this dish here, unfortunately. In addition, when I said something to the management about them the second time, no compensation was offered for my dissatisfaction which I found to be surprising treatment to me as not just a regular, but an extremely frequent customer of this establishment. Well, now they've taken the soft shell crabs off the menu and perhaps that...
Read moreI was at the hospital nearby because of my sons birth and I asked the nurses where they typically order Italian from and they said this place primarily and one other place. Well there seemed to be good reviews so we went with Antonino’s. They were nice on the phone, the delivery guy was nice and there were no mistakes with the order. They provided plates and utensils like we asked too. We ordered a tray of the rigatoni Al a Vodka, Calamari, and the rice ball supreme. My wife said that she enjoyed the rice ball (I didn’t try it). The calamari unfortunately was very over cooked, and when they prepped the squid they never removed the pen (spine, plastic like material) and it was throughout the majority of the pieces except for the tentacles. The other thing I found was something green melted on a piece of calamari, and when I looked in the container, there was something white and plastic with green writing that had the word “product” on it that was melted in the fryer with my food. The calamari was very well seasoned but it only needs to be cooked for 1-3min depending on the temp so that it’s tender but it was like chewing on rubber. The pasta was a bit over cooked too so it had no bite to it and the sauce did not taste like a vodka sauce, but more like a sherry cream sauce. The flavor wasn’t bad, but not what my kids expected from a vodka sauce. Unfortunately there were many small mistakes that makes me feel the kitchen staff do not put much care or concern into the product they are serving so I can’t see myself...
Read moreBeen here at least a few dozen times over the years. Always friendly service, and food is great. Pasta is always cooked perfectly, aldente, and generous with the sauce! The calamari is fried crispy and not greasy. My comparison is always chicken Parm, and they do a wonderful job with it. Chicken is moist and tender, with melted cheese on top, smothered with just the right amount of sauce... Enough that you want to take the bread they give you and save some to clean the plate.
I'm not really a salad person, but they make some really good salads, and their pizza is probably in the top 5 in a 10 mile radius. They also do the right amount of toppings; covered, but not so covered you can't lift the pizza.
Tortufo is my favorite dessert. It is vanilla ice cream, with toasted almonds and s cherry, all covered with a chocolate exterior shell. They cut it open for you so that it's easier to eat (or shared)!
My experience has been cheaper to call and order, over Uber eats. (Faster too!)
They are very close to...
