Ayhan's Mediterranean Marketplace — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Had a very relaxing long lunch with a friend. We walked past the food in the display cases as we walked towards the dining room and wanted to try everything! Picked a cozy table by the windows so we could look out at the water as we caught up with each other. We both ordered the lemon chicken soup which was nothing short of perfection. It tasted amazing from the first spoonful to the last. Warm and oh so comforting. Highly recommend this soup. Shared hummus and pita bread which we both enjoyed. My friend ordered a hamburger and I got my favorite salad with the dried cranberries, candied nuts, gorgonzola cheese and balsamic dressing. The salad portion was so big I shared with my friend who loved it! I have been going to the Mediterranean Market since they opened. My friend can't wait to go again the next time she is in town. As you enter Ayhan's Mediterranean Market Place in Port Washington you pass a well lit display of American, italian and Mediterranean desserts such various tradional baklavas. Moving along came soups; lentil, lemon chicken, etc.. Next a huge fresh salad display with many choices. In a few steps you are in front of a large display of prepared entrees from chicken, fish, meat etc., cooked veggies and vast choice of assorted side dishes, hummus, tahini and baba Ganoush. I started with some hummus, tahini & pita followed by Lentil soup, mixed chopped salad with feta cheese. A Shrimp kabob, spinach pie & Turkish rice. Dessert was 2 Pistachio baklava & hot tea. The meal was just delicious as I watched the gorgeous orange red sunset over Manhasset Bay. I recently had an amazing experience at Ayhan’s Mediterranean restaurant/marketplace that truly exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed a delicious spinach pie that was perfectly flaky and flavorful, along with mouthwatering gyros that were packed with juicy, savory goodness. To complement our meal, we sipped on refreshing sangria that was the perfect blend of fruity and crisp.
