5-stars for food, but 0 for customer service. Not in a hurry to spend my money there again. Have been a loyal Dom's customer for decades. The food has always been great and Dominick was always kind and courteous. Have always recommended their food and catering to family and friends. Not to mention placing two separate $500+ orders for our staff every summer. In recent weeks I have made stops at Doms to pick up a quick lunch or dinner or a tray of chicken fingers for a get-together. At one visit on June 17, I asked for a shopping bag to carry out the smaller bags of containers along with a tray of chicken fingers. Vinny was behind the cashier and reprimanded me for not asking ahead of time- He said it was wasting bags this way. AFTER I just paid $50+ I asked the cost of the bag and offered to give them an extra dollar to cover it. Vinny then proceeded to tell me it was unnecessary while still lecturing me about the waste.
Today, we visited with the sole purpose of ordering our first staff lunch for this summer. We picked up a catering menu off the catering counter when the cashier asked if we were ordering. Nick then jumped in and took our order. Again $500+ later, we were looking over the receipt and questioned that the hero prices were not the same as in the menu. He rudely told us we had the wrong menu, but we told him we got it right from the catering counter. He dismissvely said, "Wrong menu" again, handing us a copy with handwritten price changes. When we commented we had seen the other prices on the website as well, he dismissed us once again, and walked away claiming, "Those are the prices," and disappeared to a back room.
After reading other reviews with similar experiences, I can't help but doubt a male customer would have been spoken to the same way. Will not be placing an order for a second staff lunch. We will spend our 500 dollars...

I called and placed a catering order on June 24, for a pick up on July 3, and paid in full by credit card. I even called early on July 3, stating it is paid for and I'm having someone else pick up my order and if that's okay? The girl who picked up stated not a problem, she see my order, and just tell my daughter to say my name and that's it.
My daughter got there, went to the catering pick up counter. After waiting a few, Vinny came, when my daughter said hey I'm here for a pick up gave my name stated what the order was, he became super aggressive and was like where your order ticket? When my daughter stated that I placed the order/paid via phone and that she doesn't have one and that I called earlier that day to confirm and was told she only needed to state my name. Again Vinny started to get annoyed and more aggressive and asked for my credit card statement for proof?! Like WHAT?! And proceeded to tell my daughter to relax even though my daughter kept stating a she didn't have one because the order was placed via phone and obviously why would my daughter have my credit card statement. Finally another gentleman behind the counter found my ticket and helped my daughter.
My daughter was shocked, caught off guard and called me right away explain the situation that just took place and felt uncomfortable with what just took place. For an older gentleman to talk to A) a women B) to anyone like this, is UNACCEPTABLE!
If the receipt was needed, then at the time of me placing the order, they should've asked for my email and sent me either an email confirmation or even a text.
It's sad that such a great deli, that has amazing food, has such complaisant person...
Read moreI have been going to Doms regularly (at least once a week) for years. I went in today and they were packed. I waited about 15 minutes before I was next in line before the manager said “anybody ordering just a Broadway come over here”. That applied to me and so I walked right over where I was again at the front of the line. He proceeded to hand the next 10 broadways to other people including people who were just walking in when I had already been in there for 40 minutes. It wasn’t like I was hiding in the back either - I was going to grab the next one and he was literally waving me off saying “nah bro”. Finally, after patiently waiting for 40 minutes I said “hey man you’ve had like the last 10 people cut me, could I get the next one?” He very aggressively said “I don’t even recognize you bro.” Not “I’m sorry about that man yeah I got you next.” He treated me like some trouble maker because I wasn’t about to spend the next 2 hours watching him completely ignore me. I am not a loud mouth or a complainer (this is the first ever review I’ve left of a business that is not 5 stars) but something had to give and I felt like if i didn’t say something I was never going to get my food. Needless to say that’s the last time I’ll ever step foot in there. In the past I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with their staff and I’m in there weekly but the way that guy acted and behaved was unbelievable. I’ve seen him in there plenty before but have never directly interacted with him. It really felt like he didn’t like something about me and was targeting me.
I notice they love to respond to good reviews but nobody ever bothered to follow up with this damning review. Sounds like they’re not interested in...
